1. There is no doubt that Garner was resisting an arrest for illegally selling untaxed cigarettes. Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik put it succinctly: "You cannot resist arrest. If Eric Garner did not resist arrest, the outcome of this case would have been very different," he told Newsmax. "He wouldn't be dead today.

"Regardless of what the arrest was for, the officers don't have the ability to say, 'Well, this is a minor arrest, so we're just going to ignore you.'"

2. The video of the July 17 incident clearly shows Garner, an African-American, swatting away the arms of a white officer seeking to take him into custody, telling him: "Don't touch me!"

3. Garner, 43, had history of more than 30 arrests dating back to 1980, on charges including assault and grand larceny.

4. At the time of his death, Garner was out on bail after being charged with illegally selling cigarettes, driving without a license, marijuana possession and false impersonation.

5. The chokehold that Patrolman Daniel Pantaleo put on Garner was reported to have contributed to his death. But Garner, who was 6-foot-3 and weighed 350 pounds, suffered from a number of health problems, including heart disease, severe asthma, diabetes, obesity, and sleep apnea. Pantaleo's attorney and police union officials argued that Garner's poor health was the main cause of his death.

CARROLL: They were angry. I don’t want to give them the publicity to be honest. It is really — I mean, people, certain people have an agenda that’s separate from what some of the protesters, who are peaceful, who are coming out here, trying to demonstrate on behalf of Michael Brown’s family.

Those people who came up to us that was not their agenda so I don’t think it’s really worth giving them publicity. I think it’s far more important to focus on what is happening out here, those who are passionate about Michael Brown’s family. Those were passionate about Darren Wilson and his belief.

In terms of the police response, that’s what we are dealing with here, right now, trying to get a handle on the situation. Again, earlier tonight, it was a different tone. Much more peaceful than what we had seen, the previous night. It was a smaller group tonight by and large.

Most of the people who came out here tonight were peaceful. It was definitely a smaller group that they broke off in front of the Ferguson Police Department, came up the street, South Florissant, to where we are now.

Tried to overturn this police cruiser and as soon as police came in, they stopped. They tried to set it on fire. Once again, Don, much more aggressive response that we saw, quicker response tonight to try to make sure they didn’t see a repeat of (inaudible).

LEMON: So, Jason, my question was really, these are, wondering if these are people who want their voices to be heard or if these were just people who are agitators. You are right. If it is people who are agitators then you don’t want to give them any more publicity. There are many people there who just want their voices heard. Those, those guys are not those people, correct?

CARROLL: That is correct. Absolutely. Those are the kind of people — as you know, you get a mixed bag sometimes in these groups of demonstrators. But most of the people who are out here are out here because — they want to voice their support for Michael Brown and his family.

Would CNN ever run an article entitled, “I’m a feminist, and I converted to Christianity”? Or “I’m a feminist, and I converted to Judaism”? You know the answer. As far as the mainstream media is concerned, proselytizing is only acceptable from one religion only.

Anyway, as for feminism in Islam, here is a small sampling: the Qur’an likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills: “Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will” (2:223).

It declares that a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man: “Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her” (2:282).

It allows men to marry up to four wives, and have sex with slave girls also: “If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice” (4:3).

ISIS uses Chemical Weapons that were not there in Iraq

Islamic State jihadists may have used chemical weapons to kill Kurdish fighters defending the Syria-Turkey border town of Kobane, a number of disturbing and graphic photos obtained by the Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA) suggest.

The pictures show Kurdish fighters who appear to have been killed this July in Kobane by the Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS and ISIL) with some sort of chemical agent, possibly mustard gas. Warning: Graphic content below:

Kurdish forces are still fighting to defend Kobane, about a third of which is now controlled by IS militants.

“According to expert Israeli sources who have seen the pictures, they appear to indicate the use of some form of chemical agent, probably mustard (blister agent), but it is not possible to conclusively confirm this without further investigation,” MERIA, which monitors the Middle East, reported on October 12.

The Obama administration is being accused of coining a new name for an old nemesis by dubbing an Al Qaeda offshoot “The Khorasan Group.”

From Rush Limbaugh to the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, critics are dubious of the corporate-sounding name rooted in an old term that describes an area on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and are charging that it may have been introduced last month as a way to avoid invoking the name Al Qaeda, the terror group President Obama once claimed had been “decimated."

Middle East experts were long familiar with the term “Khorasan,” but its use as part of a terrorist organization’s formal name does not appear in recent online searches prior to Sept. 13, when The Associated Press characterized the militants as a “cadre of veteran Al Qaeda fighters” from Afghanistan and Pakistan who traveled to Syria to connect with the Al Qaeda affiliate there, the Nusra Front.

Ten days later, in a Sept. 23 article, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s Aron Lund also questioned the term’s legitimacy, saying the term “gained currency only” within the past two weeks.

Wow. One record was broken by 25F!!!! 1695 Low Max Records Broken or Tied From Sept 11 to Sept 20 according to the NOAA. A “Low Max” means that the maximum temperatures for the day was the lowest it has ever been. This indicates daytime cooling. Below is a screenshot showing location and the biggest difference between old record and new record. The list is just the ones I could capture in a screenshot.

Police responsded to a call for an officer shot in north St. Louis County late Saturday night.

St. Louis County Police reported a male police officer from Ferguson was doing routine patrol around 9:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Smith Avenue when he interrupted a burglary at a business.

Police say the officer saw a man behind the Ferguson Community Center and got out of his vehicle to see why he was there. The suspect fled and the officer followed on foot.

Suspect in Okla. beheading was

FBI officials are investigating a beheading at an Oklahoma food distribution
center after co-workers said the suspect tried to convert them to Islam after
his own recent conversion.

The suspect, Alton Nolen, 30, was recently fired from Vaughan Foods in
Moore prior to Thursday’s attack. Moore Police Department Sgt. Jeremy
 told KFOR that Nolen drove to the front of the business and struck a vehicle
before walking inside. He then attacked Colleen Hufford, 54, stabbing her
several times before severing her head. He also stabbed another woman,
43-year-old Traci Johnson, at the plant.
