Shooter Dead after Wash. H.S. Terror

MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — A lone shooter was dead Friday after an attack at a high school north of Seattle, police said.

Marysville Police Commander Robb Lamoureux said the shooter was a student, but he did not have any additional information including where the shooting took place and if anyone else was killed or wounded.

Many students and staff members were seen walking out of Marysville Pilchuck High School, about 30 miles north of Seattle, after police and ambulance crews surrounded the campus. Lamoureux said police were going room by room, searching the school to make sure it was safe.

"It is an active scene," he said. "We do ask parents to please stay away."

FBI director warns of Khorasan attack

The head of the FBI said in an interview broadcast late Sunday that the U.S. is preparing for an imminent terrorist attack.

FBI Director James Comey said the Khorasan Group, an al Qaeda affiliate in Syria, may still be working on a plan to hit the United States.

“Khorasan was working and may still be working on an effort to attack the United States or our allies, and looking to do it very, very soon,” he said on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”

“I can’t sit here and tell you whether it’s their plan is tomorrow or three weeks or three months from now,” he said.

Q: Why was Thomas Eric Duncan allowed to leave Liberia?

A: Duncan had been in close contact with a 19-year-old woman who died of Ebola on Sept 16. Four days later he boarded a plane for the US. Before leaving he was, like other passengers, required to fill out a form. One of the questions on the form concerned whether he had touched the body of anyone who had died in an Ebola-infected area. He answered "no" on the form. No other checks were done. The Liberian Ministry of Justice has now announced it wants to prosecute Duncan for lying on the firm, saying it expects people to do "do the honourable thing" when filling out the form.

Q: Why was Duncan sent home from a Texas hospital with antibiotics?

THOUSANDS OF TERRORISTS ALLOWED TO ENTER US

DALLAS, Texas — Over 3,500 passengers from Ebola affected nations have been allowed to enter the U.S. without any special screening since January 1, 2014, according to a leaked internal intelligence report from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Intelligence and Liaison exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas. In addition, the individuals entered into at least 18 heavily populated U.S. cities across the nation.

The leaked report specifically reads, “According to CBP [Customs and Border Protection] data, since January 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014, a total of 3,566 passengers with a nexus to Guinea transited through or arrived at U.S. airports.” The term “nexus” refers to passengers who flew from the Ebola stricken nation to a second nation, and then from the second nation into the United States. Guinea is attributed as the nation of origin for the current Ebola outbreak.

The lack of any special processes or testing for individuals with a nexus to Ebola affected nations is illumined in the leaked internal report as well. It reads, “The Leve

A travel alert issued by the CDC on July 31st remains in effect as of August 13, 2014. The travel alert urges all US residents to avoid nonessential travel to Guinea. Although CBP is not doing any additional screening of passengers from the affected countries, CBP has enhanced their screening routine processes through guidance and training. Additionally, CDC is providing assistance with exit screening and communication efforts in West Africa to prevent sick travelers from boarding planes.”

The report indicates that the vast majority of the 3,566 of passengers with a nexus to the nation of origin for the current Ebola outbreak either deplaned in or traveled through New York City. Other cities include Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami, Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburg, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, and Cleveland.

A cameraman working for NBC News in Liberia has become the fourth American to contract the deadly Ebola virus.

Freelance journalist Ashoka Mukpo, 33, is being flown privately back to the U.S. for treatment, while the network’s chief medical editor and correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman and the rest of her team are also returning and will be placed in quarantine for 21 days.

Neither Snyderman nor the other members of her team are currently displaying any signs of the disease, said NBC.

Ebola Bio_Terrorist’s family quarantined leaving many questions

The family of Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan were legally quarantined Thursday after they did not comply with Dallas health officials requests that they stay home.

Doctors are taking the temperatures of four family members in the unit where Duncan was staying twice a day to monitor symptoms as part of the health surveillance efforts being led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local Dallas government.

“If people leave, even though they’re asymptomatic, if they’re not at home when we go out to do our surveillance test on them, then that defeats the purpose of that surveillance test and that endangers them … if they were to be infected, they need to know that as quickly as possible,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. “So it’s for their benefit and everyone else’s.”

Texas health officials said during a press conference Thursday that the family would be quarantined in their apartment unit for the next 20 days until the potential incubation period for Ebola is over.

Breaking: McDonalds HQ in Oakbrook evacuated after suspicious package found

ABC 7 is reporting:

The headquarters of McDonald's in the western suburbs have been evacuated after a suspicious package was found.

The complex on 22nd Street was evacuated around 10:45 a.m. Friday.

The DuPage County Bomb Squad has been called and the facility is being searched. Approximately 1,300 employees work in McDonald's Plaza building where the package was found.
