Obama Bans Flights to Israel, But Not Flights From Ebola Affected counatries

 Erick Erickson (Diary)

If you like your Ebola free United States, you can keep your Ebola free United States” could be another Barack Obama promise. Just another in the long time of promises with, as Jim Geraghty of National Review has noted, comes with an expiration date. This one set on September 20, 2014, when the Ebola patient arrived in Dallas carrying the disease.
Since then, the Obama administration has been asked about stopping flights into West African countries where Ebola is a problem. Their position is to keep the flights going. But don’t worry. We are taking people’s temperature before they board the flights.
Compare this to the Obama administration banning flights to Israel back in July. It turned out to be a political stunt quickly cancelled after Senator Ted Cruz threatened to block State Department appointments unless questions were answered. The administration claimed that rockets fired by Hamas put flights in jeopardy despite none of the rockets coming close to the airport.
Now, however, we have a person in the United States who flew back from Africa with Ebola. The White House neither wants to stop flights to Africa nor does it want to more closely monitor people coming into the United States from Africa via other countries.

Nigerian Ebola Terror forces Feds to think again

WASHINGTON – Lawmakers and infectious disease experts are examining whether terrorists could use Ebola to deliberately infect and wreak psychological havoc on an unsuspecting population.
“I do, at some level, think the government should be concerned about [weaponization], because if it does happen it could be devastating,” said Amanda Teckman, who published a detailed report, “The Bioterrorist Threat of Ebola in East Africa and Implications for Global Health,” in the May 2013 issue of Global Policy.
It sounds like the stuff of science fiction – bad actors harnessing the virus and formulating ways to disperse it to a maximum number of victims. Cruder scenarios involve terrorists leaving “dirty bombs” of infected fluids throughout a densely populated city, or lone wolves on a suicide mission, infecting themselves to purposely spread to others.
“If you want to do the equivalent of a dirty bomb all you need is a bag of [vomit],” said Dr. Ryan Hall, a forensic psychologist who has written about psychological trauma associated with bioterrorism.

Five Blunders US Made in Bio-Terror Attack

Health officials are under fire for their handling of America's first Ebola case. Here are five questions being asked.
Q: Why was Thomas Eric Duncan allowed to leave Liberia?
A: Duncan had been in close contact with a 19-year-old woman who died of Ebola on Sept 16. Four days later he boarded a plane for the US. Before leaving he was, like other passengers, required to fill out a form. One of the questions on the form concerned whether he had touched the body of anyone who had died in an Ebola-infected area. He answered "no" on the form. No other checks were done. The Liberian Ministry of Justice has now announced it wants to prosecute Duncan for lying on the firm, saying it expects people to do "do the honourable thing" when filling out the form.

Q: Why was Duncan sent home from a Texas hospital with antibiotics?
