JERUSALEM—Israeli police went on heightened alert Sunday following protests across the country over the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old Arab Israeli who appeared in video footage to be retreating from police, as the prime minister vowed a tough response to any further unrest.

Thousands of Arabs took to the streets Saturday to protest the shooting, with many hurling rocks and firebombs at police. The protests continued Sunday with a general strike called by Arab Israeli community leaders and demonstrations outside universities and other institutions. The tensions add to those already raging in Jerusalem, where Palestinians from the eastern part of the city have been clashing almost daily with police over access to a disputed holy site.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said police have beefed up security and raised preparedness to its second-highest level—the country’s highest since the conclusion of this summer’s 50-day Gaza conflict. The weekend protests included some marching with Palestinian flags and calling for an uprising.

Michael Brown's mother accused in armed robbery of Ferguson vendors selling t-shirts commemorating her son's death

Michael Brown’s mother has been named as one of the ‘attackers’ who assaulted and robbed vendors selling t-shirts commemorating the youngster’s death.

A report from Ferguson police identified Lesley McSpadden, 34, as one of a group of up to 30 people that ran into the tent and ransacked the stall in the Missouri city on Saturday October 18.

Pearlie Gordon, 54, Brown’s mother-in-law, and two men were selling ‘Justice for Mike Brown’ merchandise when the subjects ‘jumped out of vehicles and rushed them’ during what police are classifying as an armed robbery.

According to the document obtained by the Smoking Gun, Gordon told police that McSpadden approached her and said, ‘You can’t sell this s****.’

In response, Gordon reiterated that she was Michael’s mother-in-law and said that unless McSpadden had a patent with her son’s name on it, she would continue to sell the merchandise.

Then McSpadden’s mother, Desureia Harris, began to rip down t-shirts hanging on a line, Gordon told officers.

A young couple, Shahbaz Maseeh, 26, and his wife Shama Bibi, 24 -- parents of four small children and another on the way, was burned alive by a mob in Pakistan for what appears to be trumped up charges of blasphemy.

Relatives of the couple say that the real issue was a monetary dispute involving the couple’s employers.

After a local mullah made a public ruling that the couple was guilty of blasphemy by throwing out pages of a Quran, a mob of about 500 people – included Muslims from neighboring villages -- began forming.

Relatives of the couple say the entire family was threatened and everyone began to flee, including children who have still not been accounted for days later. The couple had planned to flee with their young children as well, but were left with no time to do so.

Instead, they barricaded themselves inside a building to escape the mob comprised of their fellow workers at a brick factory where the couple was employed.

CNN reporter Sarah Sidener’s on air stand up in Ferguson, Missouri was disrupted on Monday night when supporters of Michael Brown surrounded Sidener and her cameraman and demanded that they leave the area. The video at Ferguson, shot by Bassem Masri a local activist, includes Masri and others accusing CNN of lying about the Michael Brown case and supporting “Zionists.” According to his FaceBook page, Masri is a Chesterfield, Missouri resident and pro-Palestinian political activist who also supports Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. In his blog talk radio profile he says: Born in St Louis and raised here I lived in East Jerusalem in Palestine from 98-00 Al Quds Wad IL Jos neighborhood where my father is from. My mom is from Ramallah West Bank.

NEW YORK – A horrifying threat has surfaced in the fight West Africans are waging against the epidemic of Ebola – dogs digging up corpses of virus victims and feasting on the remains, then carrying the infection with them wherever they go next.

A recent report in the Mail Online in the U.K. said villagers in Liberia were complaining dogs were found digging up the corpses of Ebola victims buried in shallow graves and eating them in the street.

“Furious residents of Johnsonville Township, outside capital Monrovia, raised the alarm after packs of wild dogs were spotted digging up corpses from a specially designated ‘Ebola graveyard,’ dragging them into the open and feeding on their flesh,” the Mail Online noted.

“Now fears are mounting that the dogs – which cannot grow sick from the strain of Ebola running rampant through West Africa but can carry it – will be able to pass it on to humans through licking or biting.”

Imagine what the international media reaction would be if Israelis were cheering as bombs fell in Gaza. But everyone expects this savagery from the “Palestinian” Muslims, and so it is not noteworthy — just don’t call it “savagery,” on pain of charges of “Islamophobia.”
