About Ebola - what you don't know can KILL YOU!
About Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever
Ebola hemorrhagic fever (recently referred to as Ebola Virus Disease, so just EVD) is one of numerous Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers. It is a severe, often fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates (such as monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees). Fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are considered (but not confirmed) to be the natural host of the Ebola virus. EVD is caused by infection with a virus of the family Filoviridae, genus Ebolavirus. There are five known species of Ebola virus and one known species of the Marburg virus. The Ebola virus species that is currently the source of the outbreak in West Africa is called Zaire Ebolavirus.
Since the first cases of Ebola HF in the current West Africa outbreak were detected in March, 2014, between 50-90% of those who become infected die. And the deaths are particularly gruesome including bleeding from the eyes, internal bleeding, major organ failure, grotesque rashes and more. ISIS is plotting online to kill Western civilians with EBOLA
Spanish security chief warns
- Francisco Martinez said Spain is taking threats made online seriously
- Claimed ISIS supporters have been discussing using Ebola in attacks
- Militants also said to be plotting to use other deadly toxins and viruses
- ISIS spokesman has also used the internet to encourage would-be jihadis
- Suggested supporters carry out lone wolf attacks using poisoned needles

Francisco Martinez, Spain's state secretary for security, said he is taking the threats seriously after uncovering conversations in which jihadis discuss carrying out so-called 'lone wolf' attacks.
Speaking before lawmakers in parliament yesterday, Mr Martinez said would-be militants are using chat rooms to explore the best ways to carry out terror attacks, adding that the conversations prove ISIS considers the internet to be 'an extension of the battlefield'.

Ebola could crash U.S. healthcare system
By Associated Press
October 29, 2014 | 7:43pm
The U.S. health care apparatus is so unprepared and short on resources to deal withthe deadly Ebola virus that even small clusters of cases could overwhelm parts of the system, according to an Associated Press review of readiness at hospitals and other components of the emergency medical network.
Experts broadly agree that a widespread nationwide outbreak is extremely unlikely, but they also concur that it is impossible to predict with certainty, since previous Ebola epidemics have been confined to remote areas of Africa. And Ebola is not the only possible danger that causes concern; experts say other deadly infectious diseases — ranging from airborne viruses such as SARS, to an unforeseen new strain of the flu, to more exotic plagues like Lassa fever — could crash the health care system.

CDC Admitws Cough can spreadh Ebola Death
By Bob Fredericks
Ebola is a lot easier to catch than health officials have admitted — and can be contracted by contact with a doorknob contaminated by a sneeze from an infected person an hour or more before, experts told The Post Tuesday.
“If you are sniffling and sneezing, you produce microorganisms that can get on stuff in a room. If people touch them, they could be” infected, said Dr. Meryl Nass, of the Institute for Public Accuracy in Washington, DC.
Nass pointed to a poster the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly released on its Web site saying the deadly virus can be spread throug Droplets.

Reidents Panic over Spread of Ebola
State officials say they will seek a court order if Kaci Hickox does not comply with a quarantine.
BY SCOTT
Northern Maine Medical Center's Chief Medical Officer Michael Sullivan responds to questions from media regarding the Fort Kent hospital's preparedness for handling the Ebola virus on Tuesday.
FORT KENT — Top Maine health officials say the nurse who has returned from treating Ebola patients in West Africa must abide by a quarantine or the state will get a court order compelling her to do so. Her attorneys say she isn’t under quarantine and they will fight any efforts to place her in one.
Tuesday’s events appear to set up a showdown between the state and nurse Kaci Hickox, who this week fueled the debate over state Ebola protocols by criticizing mandatory quarantine procedures in New Jersey, where she was held against her will. Hickox apparently is in Maine, but not at her Fort Kent home

'You're going to see a whole new kind of hell to pay if they catch EBOLA': Donald Trump says
- Real estate tycoon says US shouldn't send its armies to western Africa unless China and Russia put their own troops at risk
- After a raft of mistakes, Trump says, 'Obama has become immune to "hell to pay"'
- Military men and women will be exposed to Ebola, he told MailOnline, and it's 'morally unfair to the soldiers, and to the soldiers' families'
- Dozens of the 4,000 military personnel deployed to western Africa are now subject to isolation in a quarantine ward on an Italian military base – including their commanding Major General
- The White House could soon be in the position of requiring quarantines for soldiers who had limited contact with Ebola while NOT requiring them for doctors and nurses who cared for patients

eal estate tycoon Donald Trump blasted President Barack Obama on Tuesday for his handling of the Ebola crisis overseas, telling MailOnline that putting servicemen and women in close proximity to the deadly virus is 'morally unfair to the soldiers, and to the soldiers' families.'
The perennial Republican maybe-candidate said in an interview that exposure to Ebola is inevitable for the hundreds of U.S. military personnel serving in Liberia.
And it may be only a matter of time, he predicted, before men and women in uniform contract the disease – which kills between 50 and 70 per cent of its victims.
'You're going to see a whole new kind of "hell to pay" if they catch it,' Trump said.

FIGHTING WORDS: 'Obama has become immune to "hell to pay",' Donand Trump says, skewering the president for what he sees as a 'morally unfair' Ebola mission handed to servicemen and women
STOPPED: U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Darryl Williams (center), commander of U.S. Army Africa, cheered the groundbreaking of an Ebola treatment center in Liberia just two weeks ago – but he's enduring a 21-day quarantine before he can come back to the United States
SUPERVISION: Soldiers on the base in Vicenza, Italy are confined to a housing complex with barracks, a dining hall and a gym, but allowed no outside access – and they must not interact with other personnel at the site
But with a shrug in his voice, he said moral outrage that used to bother the president now seems to roll off his back.
'He has been hit from so many angles, for so many mistakes that he's made,' Trump explained. 'Obama has become immune to "hell to pay".'
Already a group of about 40 soldiers and army officers – including a major general – are languishing in quarantine on an Italian military base.

You Can Contract Ebola By Sitting Next to Infected Person on Bus (Video)
During the House Oversight and Governmental Reform Committee Hearing on EbolaRepresentative Thomas Massie (R-KY) asked the question, “Can Ebola be contracted by touch?” and “Can Ebola be contracted sitting by someone on a bus?” When the questions are all but answered he finds a way to get his answer, in this short clip.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is calling President Barack Obama’s initial response to Ebola “incompetent.”
“It looked very incompetent to begin with, and that fueled fears that may not be justified,” Bush said during a discussion at Vanderbilt University, according to The Tennessean. “And now you have states that are legitimately acting on their concerns, creating a lot more confusion than is necessary

FEDS FEAR AIRBORNE EBOLA
Quietly seeking tools to kill 'aerosolized' virus
In a lengthy document that received nearly no media attention, a U.S. government agency has warned preliminary data shows Ebola is aerostable, meaning it can survive in the air and potentially be transmitted via airborne means.
The document was released in a federal government announcement seeking research proposals from private firms for Ebola treatment and diagnosis tools, including for the rapid disinfection of an “aerosol” version of the virus.
The announcement indicates that despite its public pronouncements to the contrary, the government is concerned the virus can spread through the air via vaporized bodily fluids.
There has been fear a patient can potentially self-vaporize Ebola through a strong sneeze, projectile vomiting or the flushing of a toilet.
The information was contained in a 33-page report released Oct. 24 by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Department of Defense’s Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction.

YOU HAVE A 44% CHANCE OF CONTRACTING THE EBOLA VIRUS
Posted on October 27, 2014 by PatriotsBillboard
Dave Hodges 10-27-14 Modern medicine has a good idea of the course of the virus and the lethality of the Ebola virus. First, the signs and symptoms typically start between two days and three weeks after contracting the virus. The early presentingsymptoms are a fever, sore throat, muscle discomfort and a severe headache. Vomiting ensues followed by diarrhea and a severe rash. The liver and kidneys begin to fail. In the final stages, victims begin to bleed internally and externally. Death occurs between six to sixteen days. The official cause of death is normally from low blood pressure as a result of bodily fluid loss. The present estimate is that around 70% of the people whocontract Ebola are going to die.
The remainder of this article will seek to scientifically answer the following questions based upon the best data available: How fast will the will the Ebola virus spread? How long will it take for Ebola to reach its apex? Will the transmission rates for Ebola be the same in the United States as it is/was in West Africa? Finally, what are odds of contracting virus?
RELATIVE MORTALITY RATES COMPARED TO CONTRACTING EBOLA

Cybercriminals Using Ebola-Themed Threats
The Ebola epidemic has migrated online, where cybercriminals are using the virus to infect more people with malware. First, the United States Computer Readiness Team, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, issued an advisory warning users about spam campaigns that used the Ebola virus to bait users into clicking on malicious web links or attachments. Now, Trustwave, a private security and compliance consulting company, discovered several Ebola-themed threats.

Ebola Cases pass 10,000, WHO reports
Previous
The number of cases in the Ebola outbreak has exceeded 10,000, with 4,922 deaths, the World Health Organization says in its latest report.
Only 27 of the cases have occurred outside the three worst-hit countries, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
Those three countries account for all but 10 of the fatalities.
Mali became the latest nation to record a death, a two-year-old girl. More than 40 people known to have come into contact with her have been quarantined.
The latest WHO situation report says that Liberia remains the worst affected country, with 2,705 deaths. Sierra Leone has had 1,281 fatalities and there have been 926 in Guinea.

Ebola: Nearly 5,000 dead in new WHO toll – but figure could be three times higher - VIDEO
At least 4,877 people have died in the world’s worst recorded outbreak of Ebola, and at least 9,936 cases of the disease had been registered.
The latest grim figures come from the World Health Organisation, which recognises that the true toll may be three times as high.
Liberia has been worst hit, with 4,665 recorded cases and 2,705 deaths, followed by Sierra Leone with 3,706 cases and 1,259 deaths. Guinea, where the outbreak originated, has had 1,540 cases and 904 deaths.
Although the disease has been contained in Nigeria and Senegal, it is now said to be spreading towards Ivory Coast.
Among outside help arriving in Liberia and in Guinea are dozens of doctors and nurses from Cuba. Its communist government has already sent 165 health professionals to Sierra Leone.
It is the latest example of Cuba’s medical diplomacy. The Caribbean island has dispatched medical brigades to disaster sites around the world since the 1959 revolution that brought Fidel Castro to power.

US BORDER AGENT: WE ARE NOT READY FOR EBOLA
A U.S. Border Agent is saying that his department has no policy in place to watch the borders for illegals entering who might be infected with Ebola.
Fox 5 San Diego reports that the federal government has confirmed that six percent of people from Africa who enter the U.S. do so illegally through the southern border.
But apparently the U.S. government has no plan to monitor such people from Ebola countries who enter illegally and might be brining in the Ebola virus with them.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection claims that agents have received training for Ebola. But Fox 5 found one local official who disputes that claim.
