NEW BENGHAZI ‘STAND DOWN’ CLAIM AT ODDS WITH STATE DEPARTMENT.
U.S. security team insists top CIA officer held them back
Posted on September 8, 2014 at 11:53 PM EST
By WND.COM
A newly reported claim by a U.S. security team in Benghazi of orders not to respond to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed the U.S. ambassador contradicts the State Department’s official report.
The Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier interviewed three security contractors who were at the CIA annex about one mile from the besieged U.S. special mission, where Ambassador Chris Stevens and other Americans were under assault.
The three essentially served as first responders to any attack on the mission.
The security contractors – Kris “Tanto” Paronto, Mark “Oz” Geist and John “Tig” Tiegen – told Fox News they wanted to depart for the mission but were delayed by the commanding CIA officer in Benghazi, whom they refer to as Bob.

Clinton State Dept Official Says He Was Ordered To Purge Benghazi Documents That Could Be Damaging To Hillary…
What are the odds the MSM reports on Sharyl Attkisson’s bombshell report?
Via Sharyl Attkisson:
… According to former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, the after-hours session took place over a weekend in a basement operations-type center at State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. This is the first time Maxwell has publicly come forward with the story. At the time, Maxwell was a leader in the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA), which was charged with collecting emails and documents relevant to the Benghazi probe. [...]Maxwell says the weekend document session was held in the basement of the State Department’s Foggy Bottom headquarters in a room underneath the “jogger’s entrance.” He describes it as a large space, outfitted with computers and big screen monitors, intended for emergency planning, and with small offices on the periphery. When he arrived, Maxwell says he observed boxes and stacks of documents. He says a State Department office director, whom Maxwell described as close to Clinton’s top advisers, was there. Though the office director technically worked for him, Maxwell says he wasn’t consulted about her weekend assignment.“She told me, ‘Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light,’” says Maxwell. He says “seventh floor” was State Department shorthand for then-Secretary of State Clinton and her principal advisors.“I asked her, ‘But isn’t that unethical?’ She responded, ‘Ray, those are our orders.’”

US Attorney's Office wants more time to prosecute Benghazi suspect
\
AG office wants more time to prosecute Ahmed abu Khatallah, the only suspect in custody.
"You're dealing with classified information and a terrorist who was part of Al Qaeda for two decades, and so it doesn't surprise me at all that we've ended up in this place," Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., who sits on both the House Intelligence and Benghazi Select committees, told Fox News.
Pompeo said there is no question, based on the classified evidence, that Khatallah played a central role in the attack, but he doubted a lot of that evidence will get into court because it will expose sources as well as methods used by the US intelligence community to collect information.

Benghazi Suspect’s Lawyer Says U.S. Holding Back Evidence
Save
The man accused of leading the 2012 attack on American facilities in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans won’t contest being held in jail for now because the U.S. hasn’t provided access to the evidence against him the defense needs to examine, his lawyer said.
“We would concede that his detention is appropriate at this time,” the attorney for Ahmed Abu Khatallah, public defender Michelle Peterson, said at a hearing in federal court today in Washington.
Khatallah, who is about 43, is charged with conspiracy to provide material support and resources to terrorists resulting in death, a crime that carries a possible life sentence.

Aligned with American interests against Gadhafi regime

TEL AVIV – Benghazi suspect Ahmed Abu Khattallah, seized by the U.S. on Sunday, once served as a key conduit in an effort staged by the U.S. and Arab interests to aid insurgents fighting in Libya and later in Syria, according to informed Middle Eastern security officials.
It was not immediately clear whether Khattallah himself worked directly with the Americans or if he knew he was part of an effort that involved the U.S..
He did, however, receive funds for his participation in a nexus coordinated by the U.S., Saudis, Turkey and other Arab countries to recruit the fighters that ultimately toppled Muammar Gadhafi’s regime, the security officials said.

More White Privilege madness continues to stir up racial hatred

Dem Rep Compares Benghazi Committee to Racist Democrats During Reconstruction–
On September 28, 1868, a mob of Democrats massacred nearly 300 African-American Republicans in Opelousas, Louisiana. The savagery began when racist Democrats attacked a newspaper editor, a white Republican and schoolteacher for ex-slaves. Several African-Americans rushed to the assistance of their friend, and in response, Democrats went on a “Negro hunt,” killing every African-American (all of whom were Republicans) in the area they could find. Today Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) told NewsOne Now host Roland Martin Wednesday evening that the recently-announced Benghazi select committee, which just gained five Democratic members, was redolent of the efforts to intimidate black politicians during the Reconstruction.
Of course, Clyburn is talking about those horrible racist Democrats.
Not the best analogy, huh James?Cross-posted on Progressives Today.

Cheney says Clinton 'bears responsibility' for Benghazi
WASHINGTON – Former Vice President Dick Cheney said on “Fox News Sunday” that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “bears responsibility” for the State Department’s chaotic handling of the Benghazi terrorist attacks in Libya on Sept. 11, 2012.
“She was Secretary of State at the time that it happened -- she was one of the first in Washington to know about it,” Cheney said. “I think she clearly bears responsibility for whatever the State Department did or didn’t do with respect to that crisis.”

The attack on the compound led to the deaths of four Americans -- Ambassador Chris Stevens, foreign service officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.
“I do think it’s a major issue,” Cheney said. “I don’t think we’ve heard the last of it yet.”

General: We Knew Benghazi Was A ‘Hostile Action,’ State Department Could Have Helped Save Americans
by Patrick Howley
Political Reporte
A retired U.S. general serving at U.S. Africa Command headquarters during the Benghazi terrorist attack said that “there was a lot of waiting for State Department” to make a decision during the attack, and confirmed that the U.S. did not do enough to help save the four Americans killed at the U.S. Consulate in Libya in 2012.
The White House insisted after the attack that the American deaths resulted from a spontaneous protest caused by an Internet video mocking Islam. But the general said Thursday that the U.S. knew early on that the attack was a “hostile action.”
“What we did know early on was that this was a hostile action,” Retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell said in a statement presented to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Thursday. “This was no demonstration gone terribly awry.”

Surprising News? Kerry subpoenaed on Benghazi
House Republicans moved on two fronts Friday to dig for answers on Benghazi, with Speaker John Boehner announcing a special committee to investigate and a key panel subpoenaing Secretary of State John Kerry to testify.
In a significant shift, Boehner announced that the House will vote on establishing a select committee to investigate, on the heels of newly released emails that raised additional questions about the White House's response.

Top Republicans claimed those emails should have been released to Congress months ago, and Boehner signaled those concerns prompted him to rethink the need for a select committee.
