#SocialMedia NEW #DRAGNET !!!
Law enforcement mines social media for tips, criminals
TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — Be careful what you post on Facebook — your local law enforcement might be watching.
"Right now, Facebook helps us catch more wanted people than any other source," said Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson. "Our Facebook site gets more than 10,000 hits a day.
"Good or bad . it's a fact that people read Facebook."
More and more law enforcement agencies are using social media, especially Facebook and Twitter, to spread the word about recent arrests, traffic delays or crime patterns.
For the Tupelo Police Department, simple warnings about residential burglaries generate the most Facebook reaches — a matrix that combines forwards, comments and likes.
"When we put up a couple of paragraphs to tell people on certain streets about recent burglaries in the neighborhood, the numbers go out the roof," said Tupelo Police Capt. Chuck McDougald. "When we post a 'Lock up and Look out,' it's not unusual to have 15,000 reaches."
Police are starting to use that contact with the public to their advantage.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office recently started posting their most wanted criminals on Facebook and Johnson said the response has been amazing.

Throughout the valley, cities are using social media and other high-tech tools to help keep residents informed and the community safe. Moreover, social media gives locals a chance to interact with law enforcement and send anonymous tips, proponents say.
ALERTID
Nevada-based AlertID sends emails, text messages or push notifications to its members about crime, terrorism, sex offenders, natural disasters, missing children and severe weather, among other things, that can threaten the safety of families and neighborhoods.
The company has established partnerships with the Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas police departments and provides a free mobile application and website to help connect law enforcement personnel and residents.

#TCOT #PJNET ‘Cop Will Be Killed On New Years Night'
: Chilling Note To Police On Bathroom Wall Has Officers On Alert
Most threats toward police officers have been directed to the New York Police Department. However, another department is now on high alert following a chilling note that claims another officer will be killed on New Year’s Eve. According to Arkansas Matters, a threat, made toward the Rogers Police Department, was found inside the bathroom of a local convenience store. The message was reportedly written on the wall inside of a bathroom stall.
It reads as follows.
“A cop will be killed New Year’s night in Rogers, AR 12-31-14,”“MS 13.”
According to the University of Maryland’s gang activity report, “MS-13,” is the abbreviation for Mara Salvatrucha, a transnational criminal gang founded by Salvadorans. The gang, which was reportedly founded in Los Angeles, has spread to many areas of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America. According to the FBI, the gang operates in approximately 42 states. Although most of its members are Salvadorans, it is not uncommon for the group to have members of other ethnicities

White Kids On Facebook [Video]
An Illinois man, Aries Woodfin, was arrested Friday, after he allegedly made threats in Facebook posts to kill police and “innocent white children” as a New Year’s resolution. Police found a homemade shooting range in Woodfin’s basement.
The Facebook threats, in which Woodfin expressed his intentions, caught the attention of an unidentified person in Alabama, who then notified the police.
Aries Woodfin, 33, a convicted felon with firearms-related offenses, was taken into custody, after police found a.45-caliber pistol and several rounds of ammunition in his basement, according to ABC7 in Chicago. While Woodfin has not been charged in connection with his Facebook threats, he was charged in Cook County Criminal Court on Saturday with weapons possession, assault, having a firearm without a valid permit, and disorderly conduct. He is being held without bond, and will remain in Cook County Jail

#TCOT It’s Open Season on #Police and Firefighters since #NYPD Executions
Posted by Kristinn Taylor on Monday, December 29, 2014, 8:46 AM
Christmas week has seen open season on America’s police and firefighters.
Since the execution of two New York City policemen the Saturday before Christmas, there have been at least four assassination attempts on police officers and firefighters as well as the killings of two police officers who were fatally shot responding to calls.
Also, police have been attacked at crime scenes by angry mobs.
In Los Angeles Sunday night a tactical alert was declared after two men armed with a rifle opened fire on a patrol car. No one was hurt in the attack.
In Florida firefighters in Jacksonville were sprayed with gunfire last Tuesday night in a drive-by shooting. Fortunately only one fireman was wounded—by a richochet that grazed his arm.
In Durham, North Carolina on Christmas night a policeman narrowly avoided being assassinated when he caught sight of two men approaching his patrol car from behind and got out to speak to them. One of the men drew a gun and fired six shots—all of them missed the officer with one hitting his driver’s side door.
Again in Florida two Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies were sitting in the patrol cars in early Sunday when a car drove by and someone fired three shots at them. The bullets missed but passed close enough the deputies could hear them whizzing by.
In Arizona Flagstaff Police Officer Tyler Stewart was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call Saturday. The gunman subsequently killed himself.
Again in Florida Tarpon Springs Officer Charles Kondek was shot and killed while responding to a noise complaint. The suspect ran over Kondek after shooting him.
Police officers in Texas City, Texas were attacked by a mob early Friday morning after an officer shot and killed a gun-wielding man in a night club parking lot.
Once again in Florida, Delray police were attacked by a growing mob. Two officers were assaulted and the windshield on a patrol car was smashed.
In New York City on Tuesday, a fire station abandoned its post next door to a police station after the police were threatened by a Black prison gang, the Black Guerilla Family.
The Black Guerilla Family is also reported by the FBI to be targeting white police officers in Maryland.

#PJNEt #OAKLAND POLICE BLAST ‘POLITICIANS AND MEDIA PUNDITS’
The Oakland Police Officers Association has joined police unions in San Francisco and San Jose in condemning recent violence in anti-police protests across the Bay Area and the nation, singling out “politicians and media pundits” for their “vilification of front-line public servants.”
The joint statement, which was published earlier this week, is an open letter to Bay Area residents and expresses the anguish and outrage of police officers who are “shaken to the core” by apparent revenge killings of police.
While the recent protests against perceived racism in the justice system are “a legitimate expression of our First Amendment traditions,” there has been little acknowledgment that rightful protest “has devolved into vilification and violence against this nation’s front-line public safety servants.” The unions say that Bay Area officers have witnessed local protests “degenerate into violence, destruction and mob rule,” where legitimate and peaceful messages are “hijacked by shameful cowards.”

#PJNET America's police should go on strike to protest this anti-cop administration
Welcome to The Michael Savage Newsletter, your daily insider report on all things "Savage."
In today's issue: As a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Michael Savage is all too familiar with that area's reputation for radicalism.
So while he wasn't entirely surprised by the widespread looting and rioting that has been taking place there, he does have an equally "radical" suggestion for how to stop it.
"Last year, Nancy Pelosi gave the commencement speech at Berkeley, telling the graduates to become 'disturbers,'" Savage reminded his listeners.
- Well, I guess they listened to her and took her literally.
Over the weekend, they set stores on fire.
They threw bricks and bottles at police, and blocked highways.
They even looted a grocery store and stole champagne, in the name of "justice."
The leftists are using Ferguson and Eric Garner to start a race war in America, and they have friends in high places.
This is the most racist administration in American history.
We need a silent strike by the police, who are being picked on by this racist administration.
They should call in sick the next time there's a riot.
Only when the rioters run up the hills of Berkeley and invade the homes of the white liberal professors who are egging them on will you see societal change for the better.

The Chicago Way- Police underreported number of 2012 assaults, audit finds
About one-quarter of victims of aggravated assault and battery failed to get counted in Chicago Police statistics for 2012, according to a city Office of the Inspector General report released Monday.
That’s because police didn’t count each person in a crime involving multiple victims as a separate offense, the inspector general’s office said.
The audit reviewed a sample of 383 assault-related incident reports out of a total of 83,480 for 2012, the Sun-Times is reporting.
Because of the findings, Chicago Police officials have agreed to review every aggravated assault and battery in 2012 and 2013 — and count each victim.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is know to Windy City residents as the "Chicago Way" - it's a decades old technique used by our Politicos and we are all used to it. The pity is that Chicago residents DIE and the awful level of violence is concealed by an administration that does not know how to deal with it.

Police departments throughout the U.S. are considering whether to equip their officers with Google Glass.
New York City Police Department Commissioner Bill Bratton confirmed the department is already using the smart glasses during a press conference last week.
"We're in the process of field-testing that technology in a variety of circumstances, seeing where - if useful - where it might be most useful, most beneficial," he said."
