U.S. Seen as Biggest Oil Producer After Overtaking Saudi Arabia

The U.S. will remain the world’s biggest oil producer this year after overtaking Saudi Arabia and Russia as extraction of energy from shale rock spurs the nation’s economic recovery, Bank of America Corp. said.
U.S. production of crude oil, along with liquids separated from natural gas, surpassed all other countries this year with daily output exceeding 11 million barrels in the first quarter, the bank said in a report today. The country became the world’s largest natural gas producer in 2010. The International Energy Agency said in June that the U.S. was the biggest producer of oil and natural gas liquids.

UK airports on alert over jihad plots involving surgically implanted bombs

UKpoliceairport“It is feared Islamist groups may be putting together a ‘non-metallic’ device, which could potentially be surgically-implanted inside a terrorist’s body and be almost invisible to current security checks.” Islamic jihad groups keep coming up with new innovations to foil airport security procedures. When will they be added to the 1001 Muslim Inventions exhibit?
“Air passengers face extra delays and second checks at departure gates amid fears of ‘plot to bring down jets with new type of “stealth” bomb,’” by Ray Massey, Richard Spillett and Emma Glanfield, Daily Mail, July 2, 2014 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
Air passengers are facing extra delays at departure gates across the UK as security staff carry out heightened checks amid fears that Islamist groups are working on an undetectable ‘stealth bomb’ which could bring down an airliner.

One simple strategic error enabled Isis to take northern Iraq – and we're making it again in Afghanistan

The West needs to act now, before Kabul goes the way of Mosul

It is not yet clear why two Iraqi army divisions entrusted with the defence of Mosul collapsed so suddenly and so abjectly two weeks ago. But a likely key factor in the astonishing success of the Isis invasion force, which apparently numbered less than 2000 men, was the failure of the US-led Coalition to provide Iraq with even a primitive air force.
If the Iraqis had had even a single squadron of Second World War-era Hurricanes or Mustangs they would have been able to stop the invasion force within a day.
The Isis fighters who came in from Syria did so by road, in pickup trucks, in a long convoy. Although some Isis trucks carried light anti-aircraft guns, their entire force was extremely vulnerable.

Peaceful Muslims with axes viciously attack mahjong players in Chinese chess hall room

The understanding of Islamic jihad is universal. It’s the same everywhere it rears its savage head.
The quietness of a Chinese chess hall was brutally shattered when a Muslim mob of ax-wielding thugs embarked on a terrifying rampage.
Horrific footage shows the jihadists running riot in the Hotan City, Xinjiang, venue — beating onlookers with the lethal weapons. Mahjong players try to escape as the jihadists punched, kicked, hit and stabbed anyone who gets in their way. (NY Daily News)

Iraq's beleaguered Christians make final stand on the Mosul frontline

Some Christian families from Mosul have sought refuge in St Matthew’s Monastery, writes Richard Spencer. Others vow to take a stand against the Islamists - whatever the cost

Captain Firaz Jacob knows he may well be mounting a last stand at the frontiers of the Christian settlement of Bartella on the outskirts of Mosul.
Less than a mile down the road are the jihadists of Isis, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, and the portly, middle-aged Mr Jacob is aware that his home-grown militia are outnumbered.
“I stand here waiting for my destiny,” he said, as he stood this week by the last check-point on the road to Mosul and the black flags waiting in the desert.

    Let Them Kill Each Other

I know, I know, the recent ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) gains have everyone scared.  No doubt, the Islamophilic administration will want to step in, and save Islam from itself once again.  Let me advocate a course of action that will make sense to all sides in America; the left and right; from militarists to pacifists:  Let the Muslims kill each other.
After the administration blundered on Benghazi, on the Arab Spring, and Syria, Heaven itself has afforded it one last chance to set itself right.  It is almost impossible for the administration to screw it up.  All it has to do is nothing.
    Yes, Nothing!

Who is ISIS and what do they want in #Iraq?

The fierce ambition of ISIL's Baghdadi

    Image http://www.aljazeera.com/

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has risen from anonymity to become the feared leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

    Last updated: 15 Jun 2014 17:51

As its feared and fearsome leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi personifies the brutality, determination and ambition of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Not since Osama bin Laden has a leader been held in such reverence among Sunni fighters, scored such stunning and shocking victories, and threatened so much of the established order.
But unlike Bin Laden, whose vast wealth aided his elevation to the "sheikh", Baghdadi has literally fought his way from ordinary beginnings in northern Iraq to lead what is perhaps the Middle East’s most feared irregular armed force.http://www.aljazeera.com/

Saudi Kingdom slams ISIS as destructive terror group

    JEDDAH: SIRAJ WAHAB
    Published — Thursday 19 June 2014
Saudi Arabia has dismissed accusations from Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki that it supports terrorist groups in Iraq as "ludicrous."
Addressing a press conference in Jeddah at the end of the 41st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Thursday, Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal took a dig at Al-Maliki. “Those allegations are not from Iraq but Al-Maliki,” he said.

He blamed Al-Maliki’s sectarian policies for the crisis in Iraq.
“We have unequivocally condemned the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) as a terrorist group,” said Prince Saud. “ISIS does not represent the will of the Iraqi people.”
Responding to a question from Arab News that some people see the events in Iraq as a people’s revolution, he said: “We don’t see ISIS as revolutionaries. They found the space to operate in Iraq because of the policies of the (Al-Maliki) government that divided Iraqis, treated them unequally, subjugated and terrorized them.”

Prince Saud said the Iraqi prime minister indulged in politics of vengeance and behaved in a dictatorial way by consolidating power in his office. “This is what led to the presumption that this is a people’s revolt,” he said.

Obama sending Lurch (er, Kerry) to Middle East, ready to send military advisers to Iraq

President Obama responded to the growing sectarian violence in Iraq by announcing Thursday that he's dispatching Secretary of State John Kerry for talks in the Middle East and Europe -- and is preparing to send up to 300 military advisers to aid the Iraqi military.
The president, holding back on more aggressive measures such as airstrikes, addressed the crisis in Iraq and the U.S. response after meeting for hours with his national security team. Speaking in the White House briefing room, he also touched on the controversial topic of whether the U.S. should work with Iran to counter militants next door -- saying Iran can play a "constructive role" if they join the U.S. in calling for the Iraqi government to be inclusive, but would worsen the situation if the Shiite regime's only interest is in shoring up fellow Shiite fighters. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/06/19/senators-blast-obama-foreign-policy-as-political-war-over-iraq-heats-up/
