Five people were killed--including a 13-year-old boy--and at least 43 others were wounded in shootings across the city over the weekend.
The boy was found shot to death about 8:35 p.m. Sunday in the South Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
Officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 6600 block of South Talman found 13-year-old Demureya Macon on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the torso, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Macon, of the 3400 block of North Odell, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:36 p.m., authorities said.
