#Illinois' Rauner tackles full transition agenda

 

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner has been busily preparing to take the reins of Illinois' government since defeating Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn on Nov. 4.

Rauner has been dealing with a rush of job-seekers, a leaky roof at the governor's mansion and hard feelings among opponents he now must deal with.

Former Gov. Jim Edgar says selecting smart and experienced advisers is the "first and most important" task for any governor-elect.

Rauner says he trying to get a handle on the state's "horrible" budget situation. However, his plans include staging a "big party" to celebrate "our great state" at his inauguration.

Today – with just 3 days to go – we’ve mobilized the largest volunteer grassroots army in the history of Illinois.

10,000+ folks in every corner of Illinois are knocking on doors, making phone calls, talking to their neighbors, using facebook and twitter, and doing every possible thing to Get-Out-The-Vote.

Can you believe we're down to the last 10 days of the most historic gubernatorial election in Illinois history?

And with Pat Quinn getting more and more desperate by the day, it's hard to predict what dirty tricks he'll try next.  In fact, an independent analysis conducted by the Center for Public Integrity this week concluded Pat Quinn is running one of the most negative campaigns in Illinois history.  With a record as disastrous as his, we know why that is.

President Obama's here today to try to rescue Pat Quinn – AGAIN.  It hasn’t worked twice before – so they’re hoping the third time’s the charm.  Will you chip in $10, $100, or $1,000 to make sure it doesn’t work?

The President arrives just hours after the Chicago Sun-Times, the Peoria Journal Star, the Champaign News-Gazette and the Belleville News-Democrat joined the chorus of voices endorsing our vision for Illinois and calling out Pat Quinn for what he is – the worst governor in America.  We are sweeping the endorsements around the state – and the latest independent poll shows us inching ahead, up 2%. 

Early voting starts tomorrow and the President is here to try to stop our momentum.  He sees what’s happening – they all do.  Pat Quinn is heading toward defeat and the national Democrat Party is panicking.  Will you chip in $10, $100, or $1,000?
