Little bundle of joy Leo David Hargreaves could just be the cheeriest baby in the country, according to his parents.

Not only does the five month-old smile all the time, he’s been smiling since before he was born.

A 4D ultrasound scan, taken when Leo’s mother, Amy Cregg, was 31 weeks’ pregnant, clearly shows him grinning from ear-to-ear.

Miss Cregg, 24, and her partner Leighton Hargreaves, of Church, Accrington Lancashire, say that baby Leo has continued to wear a perma-grin since he was born on June 30.

AUSTIN, Texas –  A federal judge Friday threw out new Texas abortion restrictions that would have effectively closed more than a dozen clinics in the state.

U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel sided with clinics that sued over one of the most disputed measures of a sweeping anti-abortion bill signed by Republican Gov. Rick Perry in 2013. The ruling stops new restrictions that would have left seven abortion facilities in Texas come Monday. There are currently 19 abortion providers in the state, according to groups challenging the law.

"The overall effect of the provisions is to create an impermissible obstacle as applied to all women seeking a previability abortion," Yeakel wrote in his 21-page ruling.

Federal court strikes down Obamacare mandate for Christian college

Louisiana College is a Christian school that objected to the mandated abortion-inducing medications and contraceptives.

According to ADF, the mandate has lost in court 77 times.

Alliance Defending Freedom filed a challenge to the ACA abortion mandate on behalf of Louisiana College in 2012.

A federal court has ruled that the privately run Louisiana College can opt out of an Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandate that violates the school’s religious freedom.

Wednesday’s decision from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana halted the enforcement of a controversial federal mandate that requires the Christian run Louisiana College, as an employer, to provide insurance coverage for abortion pills to its employees.

"Louisiana College is a Christian college that simply wants to continue to operate as a Christian college as it has since its founding in 1906."    Tweet This

Unanimous Supreme Court Strikes Down “Extreme” Law Aimed at Silencing Pro-Life Speech

Today, a unanimous Supreme Court struck down a pro-abortion Massachusetts law which made it illegal for anyone to speak on the public sidewalks – otherwise known as exercising the First Amendment – within 35 feet of abortion clinics, calling the measure an “extreme step” in silencing free speech.

Massachusetts, with the support of the Obama Administration that helped defend the law, attempted to shut down pro-life speech surrounding abortion clinics with these “buffer zones” which are intended to keep abortion in and keep pro-life speech out. (I attended oral arguments and wrote about more of the facts of the case here.)

The unanimous Court put it bluntly, “The buffer zones burden substantially more speech than necessary to achieve the Commonwealth’s asserted interests.”

A 35-foot, no-protest zone around abortion clinics in Massachusetts violates the First Amendment speech rights of those seeking to speak to the women who enter, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Thursday.

Writing for the court, Chief Justice John Robert Jr. said the state has "undeniably significant interests in maintaining public safety" on streets and sidewalks near clinics. "But here the commonwealth has pursued those interests by the extreme step of closing a substantial portion of a traditional public forum to all speakers," the chief justice said. "It has done so without seriously addressing the problem through alternatives that leave the forum open for its time-honored purposes. The commonwealth may not do that consistent with the First Amendment."

Abortion Clinic Buffer Zone Divides Justices

A Massachusetts law creating a 35-foot no-protest zone around abortion clinics appeared in jeopardy Wednesday as the U.S. Supreme Court questioned the sweep of its restriction on free speech.

With Justice Antonin Scalia leading the way, several justices voiced concern that the buffer zone was too large and too censorious to pass muster under the First Amendment. Under the 2007 law, only patients, staff, law enforcement and passersby can enter the zone while a clinic is open.
