#Chicago Neighborhood as 'America’s Mass-Shooting Capital ! @NBC

Darnell Wells lights a candle to
remember 24-year-old niece Patricia
Chew and her 46-year-old mother,
his sister, Lolita Wells at a memorial
service where they were shot and
killed yesterday on September 29, 2015
in Chicago, Illinois. The two were
among 5 people shot at the scene
including Chew's 11-month-old son.
Chew was reported to be 2 months
pregnant when she was killed.

A new report declares an area of
Chicago to be “America’s
mass-shooting capital” and described
it as more dangerous to live in than
some of the world’s most murderous countries.

West Garfield Park, which has a
population of 18,000, saw 21
murders in 2014, according to
The Daily Beast’s report, making
the homicide rate 116 per
100,000 people.
Honduras, the country that leads
the world in homicides, has a homicide
rate of 90, according to figures from
the United Nations.

The Daily Beast also reports
that the average annual income for
West Garfield Park is $10,000, and
40 percent of households live below
the poverty line.
Other Chicago neighborhoods were
noted as dangerous in relation to
other countries. West Englewood’s
2014 per capita homicide rate was
73.2, while Chatham’s was 58,
according to The Daily Beast.

Venezuela and Belize, the countries
with the second and third highest
2014 per capita homicide rate, were
53.7 and 44.7 respectively.

According to a Chicago Tribune analysis,
at least 2,300 people have been shot
in the city so far this year, roughly
400 more than in the same period
last year.

3 Facts To Counter #Obama Alaska Global Warming BULLSHIT !!!

Written by Jim Lakely, Ricochet on .

Arctic Ice 2I applaud President Obama for visiting Alaska. I have family there, and it is a state often forgotten when the White House schedules presidential trips. But Obama’s reason for going — to highlight the results of man-caused climate change — is fraudulent. Humans are not causing global warming in Alaska or anywhere else on the globe.
Here follow three facts to counter the nonsense you will hear this week. And by “facts” I mean data collected by incorruptible sources, not predictions based on dodgy computer climate models or readings from land-based stationsthat skew recorded temperatures upward, keeping alive the ever-failing hypothesis of man-caused global warming.
Fact #1: Global temperatures have been flat for nearly 19 years.
Measured by satellite — the most-accurate way to measure global temperatures — there has been no global warming since kids who are entering college this year were born. The Class of 2015 has been told all their lives in school that human activity has been dangerously warming the planet. The facts — the data collected by the satellites NASA sent up into orbit — tell a different story:
no warming chart
The stories about “the warmest year on record” you read in the media mostly concern a fraction of a degree — and even those fractions mean little because the old, unreliable, land-based temperature stations were adjusted in a way that makes today’s temperatures seem warmer than the past. Take the Medieval Warm Period — called the “climate optimum” before warming was deemed bad — which was a lot warmer than today. Greenland, for example, was for centuries able to support modest crops and livestock. (They abandoned the colonies for good reason: It once was warm but got too cold!)
Fact #2: Polar ice is not dangerously melting.
Whenever you see a news report claiming some climate landmark represents the “greatest in recorded history,” your skeptical antennae should deploy. The world only got around to sending satellites into space to observe and measure the climate in the 1970s, including satellites that took pictures of the North Pole and South Pole to measure ice extent. So when you hear that polar ice levels are “dangerously low,” remember that the only realmeasurements we have for contrast were taken when the Bee Gees were hot.
Submarine 1958It does not take much Google skill to come up with a photo from the 1950s of an American submarine surfacing at the North Pole without much pack ice around the vessel. If that happened today? Good Lord, the media would go crazy. But it (gasp!) happened again to two subs in the 1960s.
The fact is, current ice extent on the North Pole is within the normal range of what satellites have accurately measured — again, only since the 1970s.
SSN sea dragonWhat about the South Pole? It continues to set records for ice cover and last year entrapped a global warming cruise in ice.
Fact #3: Extreme Weather is Declining.
President Obama was praying for Tropical Storm Erika, currently petering out, to be an actual hurricane by the time it struck the US. It would have given him a tiny, wind-blown branch upon which to rest his case that storms are getting stronger and more dangerous because of man-caused global warming. But even if Erika hit Florida as a Category 2 hurricane, it still wouldn’t have broken the longest-ever streak of a major hurricane (Cat 3 or higher) not landing on US soil.
That’s right. Every passing day adds to the ten-year record, set on September 12, 2015. We are experiencing the longest stretch of time in recorded history in which no major hurricane has struck the United States. Records on this have been kept, unmolested by data fudging, for more than 100 years.
As for cold weather, the “big snow” then “very cold” cycles for the past two winters in the Lower 48 were entirely normal. Human emissions of CO2 had nothing to do with it.
If you’re interested in what’s really happening to our climate — and want more than three facts to counter Obama — visit the archive of Heartland’s 10 International Conferences on Climate Change. You can also read more about the non-alarmist, non-politicized dataat Climate Change Reconsidered.

#lLLINOIS SUPREMES/ overturn state's landmark 2013 pension law ! @FOX

Posted: May 08, 2015 10:52 AM CDTUpdated: May 08, 2015 10:52 AM CDT
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- The Illinois Supreme Court on Friday struck down a 2013 law that sought to fix the nation's worst government-employee pension crisis, a ruling that forces the state to find another way to overcome a massive budget deficit.
In a unanimous decision, the seven justices declared the law passed 18 months ago violates the state constitution because it would leave pension promises "diminished or impaired."
The decree puts new Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and Democrats who control the General Assembly back at the starting line in trying to figure out how to wrestle down a $111 billion deficit in what's necessary to cover its state employee retirement obligations. The hole is so deep the state has in recent years had to reserve up to $7 billion -- or one-fifth of its operating funds -- to keep pace.
Most states faced the same public employee pension crisis, exacerbated by the Great Recession, and took steps to remedy the problem. But Illinois balked for years at addressing the crisis until former Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn and fellow Democrats who control the General Assembly overcame opposition from union allies and struck the 2013 deal, amid warnings that it might not pass constitutional muster.

#Obama V #REAGAN on Growth - @Gateway

Obama’s just like Reagan… Except when he isn’t.
obama reagan
Trickle Down Economics versus Trickle Down Socialism
Ronald Reagan’s economic plan saw GDP surge at a 3.5% clip – 4.9% after the recession. That’s a 32% bump.
During the Obama years, thanks to his big government policies, the US economy has stalled. Today the quarterly GDP was announced. The GDP for the first quarter of 2015 braked more sharply than expected at only a .2% pace. The US economy has grown an anemic 9.6% during the Obama years (excluding today’s dismal number).
Of course, Obama’s record on job growth is also much worse than President Reagan’s record.
obama reagan job growth
Net job growth has declined under Obama. By the end of the second year of their terms as president, economic growth under Reagan averaged 7.1% , under Obama an anemic 2.8%. (IJ Review)
And today, more than five years into the tepid recovery, labor-force participation remains at its lowest level since 1978 during the Carter years.

#Chicago Mayoral Race Remains a Dead Heat ! @NewsMax

By Jennifer G. Hickey

The highly-contested and heated race between Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and challenger, Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, remains in a virtual dead heat, according to a new poll.

According to the weekly poll conducted by Ogden & Fry, Emanuel leads Garcia by 43.5 percent to 38 percent, while 18 percent of respondents said they remain undecided.

After one week of campaigning, Emanuel has increased his support by less than one percent from the firm's Feb. 28 poll which gave the incumbent a 42.9 percent to 38.5 percent advantage over Garcia. In that poll 18.6 percent were undecided.

In the Feb. 24 election, the former Obama administration aide failed to garner the 50 percent of the vote needed to prevent a runoff election. Emanuel won 45 percent of the vote and Garcia, who is the Cook County commissioner, came in second with 34 percent of voters, according to The Chicago Tribune.
The new one-question poll has a margin of error of 3.13 percent.

The large number of undecided voters does not work in Emanuel's favor because that segment usually does not break for a known incumbent, according to the firm's poll analysis.

#Chicago nears fiscal free fall with latest downgrade !!! @Yahoo

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Chicago drew closer to a fiscal free fall on Friday with a rating downgrade from Moody's Investors Service that could trigger the immediate termination of four interest-rate swap agreements, costing the city about $58 million and raising the prospect of more broken swaps contracts.
The downgrade to Baa2, just two steps above junk, and a warning the rating could fall further still, means the third-biggest U.S. city could face even higher costs in the future if banks choose to terminate other interest-rate hedges against fluctuations in interest rates. All told, Chicago holds swaps contracts covering $2.67 billion in debt, according to a disclosure late last year.

"This is an unfortunate wake-up call for anyone still asleep over the fiscal cliff facing the city of Chicago," said Laurence Msall, president of the Chicago-based government finance watchdog, The Civic Federation.

Chicago Holiday Toll Was 82 Shootings, 14 Deaths

(CHICAGO) -- The spree of shootings in Chicago during the long holiday weekend reached 82 incidents and included 14 deaths, according to a tabulation of police reports.

That number marks a significant jump from the same period last year, despite an increase of "hundreds" of officers on the street to prevent violence.

"It's groundhog day here in Chicago again," Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Monday morning, in an apparent reference to repeated spasms of violence in the city.

Of the 14 fatalities, two were shot dead by police.

The Chicago police department released different statistics claiming the weekend saw 50 shootings that included nine fatalities.

The difference in the statistics is the difference in the time frame. Chicago police figures spanned a period from 6 p.m. Thursday as the long holiday weekend began to midnight Sunday. Figures calculated by ABC News' affiliate WLS began at 4 p.m. Thursday to 3:30 a.m. Monday and totaled 82 shootings.

Chicago must pay legal fees in gun store lawsuit

Posted: Jul 04, 2014 10:17 AM CDTUpdated: Jul 04, 2014 10:19 AM CDT
CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago has received a bill of nearly $1 million for its ultimately unsuccessful effort to keep guns out of the city.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a federal judge on Thursday approved a request by an attorney for one of the plaintiffs for $940,000 in legal fees and expenses.
The order by U.S. District Judge Edmond Chang comes months after Chang agreed with the plaintiffs that the city's longtime ban on gun stores was unconstitutional. That ruling forced the city last month to approve an ordinance that would allow gun stores - though the ordinance dramatically limits where the stores can operate and imposes a number of requirements that are likely to trigger other legal challenges.

#Democratic Rep: Communism Works! Dumb Democrat shows his ignorance!

Joe Garcia: ‘We’ve proved that communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there is no crime.'
BY:
Rep. Joe Garcia (D., Fla.) suggested “communism works” while discussing the U.S.-Mexico border and the amount of money and federal government jobs that are offered in border towns such as El Paso, Texas.
“The safest city in America is El Paso, Texas. It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the America’s, which is Juarez. Right?” Garcia asked a Google Hangout participant.
“Two of the safest cities in America are on the border with Mexico. Of course, the reason is we’ve proved that communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there is no crime,” Garcia said.

----------------------------------------------------------

Garcia is a very uneducated man.  Communism was a miserable failure world wide in the 20th century and continues to be rejected across the globe.  But the Liberals can never seem to get the PENIS out of their mouths and say something intelligent, so what can you expect?
