In its editorial on Sunday, the Chicago Tribune revisited a 2010 analysis in which it looked at many aspects of Illinois — taxes, education, unemployment and many others — to determine how it measured up to other states. The findings in most categories showed a decline that reflects the continuing downward spiral of Illinois state government’s finances.
