Americans are increasingly living in a police state, and the road looks very bleak unless citizens stop being complacent and take back their government, according to Rutherford Institute President John Whitehead.

Whitehead is the author of the new book, “Battlefield America: The War on the American People.” It’s his second book on this issue. In 2013, he published “A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State.”

The issue is taking on additional urgency this week after an online news article chronicled how police stormed into the homes of three supporters of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in the middle of the night, subjecting the citizens to intense harassment simply for backing Walker’s collective bargaining reforms in the state. None of them were ever charged.

Whitehead said episodes like that are becoming less of an exception and more of a rule.

“The government is watching everything you’re doing,” Whitehead said. “We are in a police state right now. The question is, can we push it back?”

Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about illegal immigrants or face arrest

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

My sources say Americans should be very concerned about the secrecy of the government camps.

“There were several of us who wanted to talk about the camps, but the agents made it clear we would be arrested,” a psychiatric counselor told me. “We were under orders not to say anything.”

Media Promotes Gun Grabber Propaganda

A free press is a good thing for America to have. A free press that doesn’t parrot and exaggerate anti-gun propaganda would be even better.

For example, take Natalie DiBlasio’s article for USA Today on Wednesday, titled More kids die in shootings than statistics show.  For starters, the title doesn’t even accurately reflect the article’s content. The article concerns the claim by Michael Bloomberg’s gun-control group “Everytown” that some firearm accident deaths among children are mistakenly classified as homicides by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Contrary to the article’s title, Everytown doesn’t claim that the CDC undercounts firearm-related deaths among children in general.

The article’s title is wrong for another reason. As the tables below show, firearm-related deaths among children, which include ages 0-14, decreased dramatically between 1981 and 2011, the earliest and most recent years of data reported by the CDC.

Archdiocese Denied Contraceptive Mandate Injunction

Less than a week after a federal judge granted a Pittsburgh-area Catholic diocese a preliminary injunction from the Obamacare contraceptive mandate, a different federal judge in Philadelphia has denied such an injunction to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

In the Philadelphia case, U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found June 26 the form a religious organization has to fill out to be exempt from covering its workers' contraceptive needs is not a violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The plaintiffs appealed Buckwalter's decision the same day it was issued.

The plaintiffs in Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia v. Burwellargued that filling out EBSA Form 700 was not in and of itself burdensome, but would "'create a vital link in a chain toward the provision of contraceptive services,'" Buckwalter said.

Today, some 150 Israeli believers and evangelical Christians live and work there while providing a “living testimony” as Israeli believers in Jesus Christ. But now the faith-based community of Yad Hashmonah may be forced to shut its doors after being ordered by an Israeli court to compensate two lesbians who were not allowed to hold their “gay” wedding at the banquet hall and biblical gardens. “We do not hate homosexuals or lesbians. We love them. We simply told the court that it is God’s word in the Bible that calls homosexuality an abomination,” Ayelet Ronen, general secretary for the village, told Israel Today. The women, who were married in England, where same-sex unions are legal, wanted to renew their vows and hold a reception at the Messianic Israeli moshav, or settlement. When the receptionist explained “the owners are believers in the Bible and cannot perform a ceremony of this nature here,” the women filed a lawsuit.

Patent office cancels Racist Redskins' trademark - Chicago Blackhawks next

The US Patent Office canceled the Redskins patent Wednesday.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Patent Office ruled Wednesday that theWashington Redskins nickname is "disparaging of Native Americans" and that the team's federal trademarks for the name must be canceled.

The 2-1 ruling comes after a campaign to change the name has gained momentum over the past year. The team doesn't immediately lose trademark protection and is allowed to retain it during an appeal.

First lady Michelle Obama is encouraging students to monitor their older relatives, friends and co-workers for any racially insensitive comments they might make, and to challenge those comments whenever they’re made.

The first lady spoke on Friday to graduating high school students in Topeka, Kansas, and in remarks released over the weekend, Obama said students need to police family and friends because federal laws can only go so far in stopping racism.
