FBI Director: American Muslims Fighting with ISIS welcome home!

These slaughtering America-haters are free to return to this country? Based on what? Jihadists who go to Iraq and/or Syria to wage holy war, behead, rape, slaughter are free to come back to this country. When did treason and sedition become mere inconveniences?
As for tracking them, the FBI has lost track of dozens of American Muslims waging jihad in the Middle East. Who does he think he is kidding?

FBI concerned about encrypion by default for Smartphones

FBI Director James Comey said that he was “very concerned” about decision on Apple and Google to implement data encryption by default on their Smartphones.

The FBI is concerned about the improvements made by Appleand Google for their solutions to defend the security and privacy of the users. The companies have implementedencryption by default on smartphones, the choice is pushed by the need of privacy manifested by the market to protect users from surveillance activities operated by governments on a global scale.
A few days ago Google announced it would adopt dataencryption by default in the next version of the Android OS L. Apple, similarly, allows data encryption for iOS based devices starting from the iOS 8 version.

Newly Released Document Reveals How The US Government Defines A Terrorist

The general view of the operations center of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) is seen during a tour by U.S. President George W. Bush at Liberty Crossing near Tysons Corner in Virginia, June 10, 2005. A A A Newly leaked documents from the National Counterterrorism Center is giving the world its first inside peek at how the U.S. government identifies and tracks suspected terrorists in country and abroad.
A copy of the National Counterterroism Center’sWatchlisting Guidance report from March 2013 shows a dramatic expansion in the criteria used to target potential terrorist suspects under the Obama administration — a system which “requires neither ‘concrete facts’ nor ‘irrefutable evidence,’” according to The Intercept.
The list is distributed throughout the intelligence community as a uniform standard for designating suspects, and though it is unclassified, its secrecy has been guarded by both the Bush and Obama administrations. Just last month Attorney General Eric Holder brought the criteria under the state secrets privilege in order to prevent them from being disclosed in a legal challenge against an American placed on the list — a designation that can bar suspects from flying, and leave them open to prosecution for minor offenses.
In his argument, Holder described the list as a “clear roadmap” of the U.S. intelligence terrorist-tracking system, and that reveling the list to the public “could cause significant harm to national security.”

    Documents unsealed Thursday
by a federal court in Seattle reveal that late last year, Microsoft successfully challenged an FBI National Security Letter.
NSLs allow FBI officials to send requests to Web and telecommunications companies requesting account information, with the assumption that the information is relevant to a national security investigation.
The NSL Microsoft received was in regard to one of its enterprise customers and it sought basic subscriber information, Microsoft's general counsel Brad Smith said in a blog post.
Like all NSLs, the one Microsoft received contained a gag order that prevented the it from notifying its customer about the request, which spurred Microsoft to take legal action.
