PC police call Army’s Apache helicopter’s name racist - Chicago Blackhawks, Cleveland Indians next?

Veterans aren’t happy with a recent op-ed by the Washington Post, which charged that the Apache, Comanche, Chinook, Lakota, Cheyenne and Kiowa military vehicles were a “greater symbolic injustice” than the NFL’s Washington Redskins’ name.
“Even if the NFL and Redskins brass come to their senses and rename the team, a greater symbolic injustice would continue to afflict Indians — an injustice perpetuated not by a football club but by our federal government,” Simon Waxman of the Boston Review wrote for the Post on Thursday.

He added that the helicopter names were “propaganda” that needed to end, because Native American life expectancy statistics indicate the “violence is ongoing, even if the guns are silent.”

Chicago BlackHawks win 4-3, force Game 7

Posted: May 31, 2014 9:21 AM CDTUpdated: May 31, 2014 9:22 AM CDT
One of the best playoff series of all time will end as it should with a Game 7 at the United Center on Sunday. Because on Friday night the Chicago Blackhawks wouldn’t be denied and captured Game 6 in Los Angeles 4-3. These two teams are evenly matched and this series has been one giant commercial for the NHL.
The Kings have been perfect this season in two previous series by winning Game 7 versus San Jose and Anaheim. The Blackhawks are a perfect 13-0 in Games 5, 6, and 7 since last year. Los Angeles is looking to become the first team to win three seven-game series and advance to the Stanley Cup Final. No matter how one parses the numbers, something has to give in Game 7.
The Hawks outplayed Los Angeles for much of the opening frame but ended up trailing by a goal. In an odd sequence, where Corey Crawford looked as if he was going to play the puck behind the net but didn’t, the result was a Dwight King goal. Brent Seabrook hesitated and every Chicago player on the ice was caught flat-footed as King was left wide open in the slot. The goal could have deflated the Blackhawks as if took place at the 17:03 mark but they rebounded nicely.

Blackhawks say not so fast to the Kings, win Game 5

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
In a must win situation the Chicago Blackhawks prevailed with a 5-4 victory over Los Angeles in double overtime. Following the game Joel Quenneville remarked the OT session was the greatest one he had ever witnessed. Not sure if Quenneville would have thought the same if his crew lost, but the overtime was a great viewing experience.
Game 5 had something for every Blackhawk fan, actually every fan of hockey.
There were some very good saves by Corey Crawford and he also allowed a couple of soft goals. The Hawks came out strong and grabbed a quick two goal advantage only to fall behind in another infamous second period. At the start of third frame the Kings were riding high but it was the Hawks who scored to tie the game 77 seconds into the period.

Blackhawks pushed to the brink by Kings

LA scores 3 in 1st period, cruises to victory; Hawks down 3-1 as series returns to Chicago

May 27, 2014|By Chris Kuc, Chicago Tribune reporter

— After being throttled by the Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals Monday night, the Blackhawks were quite interested in talking about what happened just over a year ago.
It was then the Hawks reeled off three consecutive victories to rally from the brink of elimination against the Red Wings in the second round of the playoffs.
