After a campaign spurred by talk-radio host Michael Savage, a wounded Army soldier was reunited after 16 months with the Czech German shepherd who helped him hunt buried explosives in Afghanistan.

The Army admitted it had mistakenly allowed the dog, Matty, to be given up for adoption instead of being turned over to his handler, Spc. Brent Grommet. The two were trained in the military’s Tactical Explosive Detection Dog program.

Grommet and Matty were together in Afghanistan when an IED exploded nearby, seriously wounding Grommet, who suffered a spinal injury, hearing loss and post-traumatic stress.

Grommet, 23, had last seen Matty in July 2013 after arriving in New Jersey, where the dog was taken away for processing.

On Friday, Grommet’s father, Don Grommet of DeSoto, Missouri, picked up Matty in South Carolina, where the dog had been adopted, and took him to the soldier’s home base, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

In an interview Monday with Savage, Don Grommet described the happy reunion.

My political 'platform' is simple: Borders, language, culture - Michael Savage

In today's issue: The next presidential election may be over two years away, but already, establishment Republicans are discussing viable candidates.

Dr. Savage says that if he were the nominee, he would run on a straightforward platform: borders, language and culture.

"If I were running, I'd run on a campaign of borders, language and culture," Savage said to his listeners, adding:

The Republicans are having meetings now about what they should stand for.

They're still trying to determine what their motto is.

"War"? No, they can't say that.

"Families"? They can't say that either, because we're for gay marriage.

"We're for nothing! We're for everything!"

I know how to win.

Borders, language and culture. It's that simple.

"Borders" should be self-explanatory.

"Language"? I mean there should be English-only in the workplace and the government.

We don't live in the Tower of Babel.

My ancestors had to learn it, so new immigrants should, too.

"Culture"? All cultures are not equal. Anyone who has traveled the world knows that.

That's my platform.

I wouldn't even answer any other question.

Here's the real reason for the racially motivated crime that's sweeping the country

In today's issue: Dr. Savage reports on yet another "knockout game" victim, this time a disabled white veteran attacked by African-American teens.

Savage believes that the racially charged, divisive rhetoric constantly being spewed by Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio are creating an atmosphere that fosters this kind of violence.

"A group of black youths have attacked a disabled white veteran in Cleveland, while shouting, 'Knock that white boy out,'" Savage told his audience, adding:

Ask yourself why there are so many attacks on whites going on in America lately.

Where do think it's coming from? Where would these ignoramuses get the idea that there's any justification for attacking white people?

How about Obama's constant harping about income inequality and "the 1 percent."

How about Holder and de Blasio pushing the same issues, using these code words.

The kids hearing this stuff aren't rational. This is their pure gut reaction to the hatred being spewed by this administration.

Then you have Louis Farrakhan saying the white race should be exterminated.

That no one says a word about this is shocking.

A rational Justice Department would have commented on this.

The First Amendment does not permit you to yell "fire" in a crowded movie theater. You aren't allowed to stir people up to commit violence.

We're living in a very dangerous time.

Savage off to a great start in Drive Time Slot

Michael Savage began his new time slot with a view of what fans have to look forward to.

It was vintage SAVAGE.

For those familiar with the King of Conservative Talk Radio, or any who have read one of his 22 books, we were not let down.  Savage played his favorite German hard rock band in the background as his patter ranged over the important events facing the nation in the new year and did not miss a punch.

Dubbing Obama the "Surfer" (for his Hawaiian trips), he asked his audience "What do you fear most from Obama in the coming year?"  Quoting from "The Enemy Within", a NY Times best seller and one of his great classics, he reminded his audience of Cicero's quotation on the "Enemy Within" and asked for the source.

Quoting Savage in his best seller:

If you speak three languages you are tri-lingual,

If two, you are bi-lingual,

If  you speak only English, you are an AMERICAN.

Michael did not let us down as his wit and superior intellect rushed to the defense of true American Conservatives.

On a personal note, it is refreshing to have a true American Conservative in this vital radio throne that has become far too commercial to allow any true thought and allowed the politics of the marketplace to dictate conversation as slow censorship crept in.

Savage explained his Pluralistic approach to religion: there are many religions that can lead to God: Like a big wheel with God in the Center, there are many spokes (religions) that lead to that hub. We must not mimic the radical Muslims who aver that only theirs can lead to God.

All in all, Savage is off to a great start, and his long time fans were rewarded with much to look forward to:

With a dysfunctional Congress, and a President set to wage a coup we all need it badly.
