Five people were killed and at least 12 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Saturday afternoon.
In the most recent fatal shooting, a 25-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds early Monday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
Officers responding to shots fired in the 5400 block of West Haddon Avenue found Lance Stanton about 1 a.m., authorities said.
Stanton, who lived on the block where he was killed, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A 17-year-old boy died Sunday night, a day after he was shot Saturday in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.
