CHICAGO (Associated Press) -
Mayor Rahm Emanuel is introducing a court-ordered ordinance to allow gun shops in Chicago, but critics say it amounts to a continuation of the city's ban on the stores.
The ordinance was introduced Wednesday without discussion and referred to a City Council committee for discussion. No date on a vote was set.
The strict ordinance would prohibit the stores in 99.5 percent of Chicago. It would force stores that do open to video record all transactions and prohibit them from selling more than one handgun to a buyer per month.
