Major North American Islamic Figure With Long-Standing Terrorist Group Connections Loses Huge Libel Lawsuit In Canada In Big Victory For Free Speech

fea_glimpses
When lady justice comes, sometimes it is by a path one might not expect.
Dr. Ingrid Mattson a convert to Islam and former President of the Islamic Society of North America, has lost a major libel lawsuit in Canada. What makes this so significant for me is that I was one of her students:
Dr. Ingrid Mattson, former longstanding senior functionary of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), launched her proceeding – judged meritless by The Lawfare Project – against David B. Harris, a lawyer and one of Canada’s leading terrorism experts. But Harris, a recent witness before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee, never relented in his refusal to withdraw a public characterization of Mattson as “radical,” nor would he offer apologies, damages, or costs. This forced Mattson, likely fearing what a full legal-disclosure process would reveal, to give up all her demands. In a stunning reversal, and despite her claim of grave reputational damage, Mattson recently agreed to have the Superior Court of Ontario dismiss her own suit.
Dr. Mattson was the Islamic Society of North America’s president when her organization was designated an unindicted co-conspirator in the successfulHoly Land Foundationprosecution, which involved allegations of the funding of Hamas, the U.S.- and Canadian-designated terrorist organization. Although neither Mattson nor ISNA were charged in the matter, Mattson’s extensive, longstanding connections with disturbing Islamist individuals and entities, like ISNA and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), have been a source of dismay for counter-terrorism specialists and moderate Muslims alike. Mattson occupies the radical-funded London and Windsor Community Chair in Islamic Studies at Huron University College (HUC), Ontario, an affiliate of the University of Western Ontario. Both the creation of the Chair, and Mattson’s appointment to it, caused an uproar.
I studied at Hartford Seminary and graduated in 2010 with my MA in Islamic Studies. Dr. Mattson was a professor while I was there, and she was one of the schools “star” professors there, presiding over the Muslim World journal and the schools MacDonald Center for Islamic Studies.
The MacDonald Center was named in honor of Duncan Black MacDonald, a Scottish Presbytarian minister who brought the discipline of Islamic Studies to Hartford Seminary during the late 19th century and during his tenure transformed the school into both the first school to specialize in Islamic Studies in the USA as well as to make it the center for Protestant missions to the Middle East (the Catholic missions went through one of the religious orders, such as the Franciscans or the Dominicans). That the Muslim World journal was founded in 1911 by the Protestant Rev. Samuel M. Zwemer, who was a prolific writer, scholar, and missionary to Muslims whose zeal for the Gospel was as strong as his eloquent and pointed disdain for Islam and its perverse founder. As you can see, the irony of Dr. Mattson’s position was sickening. Here was a Muslim woman – and Catholic apostate, I add- who was given charge and presided over the continual and fundamental transformation of Hartford Seminary as a school for Protestant missions to the Muslim world and the Journal as the intellectual arm of that same school into a school that would send out Muslim missionaries to convert Christians with the Journal now serving the cause of propagating Islam.
Protestantism was always regarded by the Catholic Church as a heresy. As the great saints and many writers have pointed out, Islam is merely a Christian heresy but a very advanced and indeed the final perfection of that same heresy. Thus one must logically conclude on this reasoning that Protestantism is an early form of Islamization, and in this sense Hartford Seminary had fully completed its journey full heresy unto apostasy from the very same faith it was created to propagate, and the whole journey only took 100 years.
I enjoyed my time at Hartford Seminary, but it was not without difficulty. I was not liked by many professors on account of my views (as I have articulated through my articles here on Shoebat.com), and sometimes I found myself in situations where I was not just regarded as an outcast, but also in potential physical harm from the Muslim students with little to no support from the school, save for a few people. I eventually wrote about my experience for the Academic Questions Journal, which is put out by National Review, where I detailed my experiences. One of those experiences I had involved Dr. Mattson, who I had as professor for a class on reading ancient Islamic texts:
I realized that my beliefs were strongly different from those of the majority of HS students and professors, but I did not fully internalize the extent of it until two incidents occurred in early 2009. It began when I sent a private email to a blogger friend in which I mentioned Dr. Ingrid Mattson, then president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and a professor I had for a class. My email referred to recent events in the news surrounding Dr. Mattson, ISNA, and its indictment by the federal government over terrorism charges.
What happened next I did not expect. My friend published my email online, with neither my knowledge nor my consent. I was not aware of this until I was asked to come to the office of the dean of students. The dean presented me with the email’s text, and I was immediately accused of racism, bigotry, and spreading hatred of Muslims, none of which is true. I maintained my composure, but internally I was furious, because this was the same faculty member to whom I had made appeals after being harassed and discriminated against by fellow students who were Muslim and by professors because of my differing beliefs and opinions. When I asked the dean if he, Dr. Mattson, and I could meet to discuss these accusations, I was told that she was “uncomfortable discussing them with me,” and that no meeting would be possible. I was permanently barred from the MacDonald Center for Islamic Studies and told not to contact Dr. Mattson.
A few weeks after this incident I submitted for review my original master’s thesis, written on the concept of human dignity in Islamic theology. My advisor at the time was a Jewish professor known for his work in interfaith relations with Muslims. About a week later he called and asked to meet with me at the seminary. He began our meeting by repeatedly asking me if I “hate Muslims,” “feel angry towards Muslims,” am “uncomfortable with Islam,” and many other questions. All the questions had the underlying theme of attempting to link my disagreement with Islamic theology in my thesis to a personal hatred of Muslims. I repeatedly explained to him that I do not hate Muslims, and that my views on Islam are borne out of Islamic theological teachings, not personal experience. After two hours of discussion, he returned my thesis to me, looked me in the eye, and said that he could not accept it and that “the Muslims will not accept it.” I asked him to explain his statement, and he told me that I made “the Muslims feel uncomfortable”—although he would not specify who “the Muslims” were.
This incident happened back in 2009. If it were not for the efforts of a current professor and personal friend (whose name I shall not mention) who came to my assistance, it is probable that I would have been expelled for the “crime” of “insulting Islam.”
I remember thinking how ironic this was in light of the fact that I was threatened with bodily harm, I was told that I was the problem. How I saw Muslims of different sects threaten each other with physical harm in class and it was never spoken again, reminiscent of the memory hole from George Orwell’s dystopic novel 1984. How Muslim students openly discriminated against non-Muslim students in how they spoke to and treated them, and not only was it never discussed, but the veneer of “peace” and “tolerance” was promoted at all cost. How Hartford Seminary hired a professor who is still employed there who ‘conincidentally’ translated a 14th century Islamic writing on the merits of murdering monks right after the murder of six Catholic Trappist monks in 1996 at Tibhirine, Algeria, and who also has an open, virulent, and brutally condescending view of Christianity and Christians as well as less-than-orthodox Muslims (I know well, because I had this professor for a class and he and I clashed on more than one occasion over this).
Dr. Mattson’s involvement in Islamic affairs at Hartford Seminary and what was discussed in the article was only the proverbial “tip of the iceberg,” since I had come to know her from personal experience. While what I say solely comes from my experiences alone with her, I recall that it was fascinating to see how deep her ties are in the Muslim community, much more so than is discussed, into many different things and in different ways. Some of these included with  businessesmosques, personseducationpoliticsinternational as well as local incidents. Even so, there is likely still far more which has yet to be revealed.
I am glad to see this, and not because of my experience, but because she is an active, living threat to the existence of the Western world. The only institute she belongs in, in my opinion, is the local penitentiary for treason in the name of Islam against the very society she was born into and the very God she was taught to worship but later exchanged for Allah.

#MUSLIM NATIONAL GUARDSMAN ARRESTED FOR plotting #TERROR in #US

The National Guard, no less.
Mohamad Bailor Jalloh later said he would like to carry out an attack in the style of Fort Hood mass murdering Muslim Nidal Hasan. He also praised Mohammad Youssef Abdulazee, who killed five U.S. service members in Chattanooga, Tenn., last year. And Jalloh wanted to assassinate “someone known for organizing contests for cartoons of the prophet Muhammad.”
“Former National Guardsman accused of plotting attack to support ISIS,” By Joe Heim, Washington Post, July 5:

A former member of the Army National Guard living in Sterling, Va., is accused of trying to plan a domestic terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State.Mohamad Bailor Jalloh was arrested Sunday and charged with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist organization, according to papers filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Jalloh, a native of Sierra Leone, is a U.S. citizen. He quit the National Guard after listening to the lectures of deceased radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, according to court documents, and became involved in planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.Moved to look up al-Awlaki’s lectures online after hearing the cleric referred to in the news media as a “hate preacher,” Jalloh found himself persuaded to take violent action, according to court papers.
Jalloh later said he would like to carry out an attack in the style of Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people in a 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Tex., according to the affidavit filed in federal court. He also praised Mohammad Youssef Abdulazee, who killed five U.S. service members in Chattanooga, Tenn., last year. And Jalloh at one point suggested that someone known for organizing contests for cartoons of the prophet Muhammad would make a good target.
 Fort Hood Jihad
“You have to pick a action and take it cuz time is not on your side,” he wrote to an ally, according to the affidavit.
Jalloh purchased a Glock handgun in February but was unsuccessful in trying to buy an assault rifle in Charlotte, N.C., last month, according to the documents.
While under FBI surveillance on July 1, Jalloh visited Blue Ridge Arsenal, a gun store and indoor target range in Chantilly, Va. He looked around for about 10 minutes and left.
chattanooga
“As soon as he walked out the door, the FBI came in,” said Earl Curtis, the store’s owner, in an interview Tuesday. The FBI collected security camera footage and asked about Jalloh.
The next day Jalloh returned and attempted to purchase a Bushmaster AR-15 but did not have the required three forms of identification and left to get them, according to the documents. FBI agents informed the store’s manager that when Jalloh returned, the store should sell the gun to him but make it inoperable before he took ownership, said Curtis.
“They wanted to catch him in the act, so they said to go through with the purchase,” Curtis said. The store’s owner said Jalloh returned that evening and bought a different assault rifle for about $1,200. He test-fired the weapon at the range, after which an employee took the gun in the back and disabled it before returning it to Jalloh.
Curtis said that he does not believe that Jalloh had visited his store prior to last weekend and that none of his employees recognized him. Jalloh did not buy any ammunition at the store.
He also gave $500 to a federal agent he believed was working with the Islamic State, the affidavit said.
Jalloh served as a specialist in the Virginia National Guard from April, 2009 to April, 2015. He was a combat engineer in the 276th Engineer Battalion, 91st Troop Command. The battalion deployed overseas during Jalloh’s tenure, but there are no records showing that he deployed with the battalion, said Virginia National Guard spokesman A.A. “Cotton” Puryear.
According to the documents, federal authorities were alerted to Jalloh’s plans by a confidential source who was working with a now-deceased overseas co-conspirator. He was scheduled to appear in court for the first time Tuesday afternoon.
Al-Awlaki’s rhetoric has been linked to several terrorist attacks and plots even after he was killed by a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in 2011. Hasan developed a relationship with the cleric after hearing him lecture at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Northern Virginia. Al-Awlaki is also believed to have inspired a Nigerian student accused of attempting to bomb a Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas in 2009 and a Pakistani American man who tried to set off a car bomb in New York City in May 2010. Abdulazee had downloaded recordings of al-Awlaki’s speeches. Omar Mateen, who killed 49 people in a nightclub in Orlando last month, had watched videos of al-Awlaki.

#MUSLIM MURDERS RAPES IN #GERMANY ! #OBAMA #MIGRANTS

REPORT: Migrants Committing Disproportionately High Crime In Germany While Media And Govt Focus on ‘Far Right’ Thought Crimes

SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTER

A massive, migrant crime wave is surging across Germany according to figures buried in a new reportreleased by the country’s Interior Ministry. The data reveals that without migrants considered, crime rates in Germany would have remained roughly static since 2014. But, in fact, the country recorded an extra 402,741 crimes committed by migrants.

While much of this criminality concerned illegal border crossings, German authorities instead talked up a “record surge” in crimes by “right wing radicals”.
Concerning statistics from the 135-page report reveal that 70 per cent of pickpocketing, one of the crime types on the rise, was committed by non-Germans. Of this figure, 34 per cent was committed by recent asylum seekers, with the rest committed by “non-Germans”.
Foreign nationals are thought to account for around 11 or 12 per cent of the total population of Germany, but were over-represented in every area of crime.
Illegal immigrants and asylum seekers account for around 2.5 per cent of Germany’s population, but were also massively overrepresented.
Amongst total offences, non-Germans accounted for 27.6 percent while illegal immigrants and asylum seekers accounted for 5.7 percent. Of homicides, the figures are 29.3%/8.2%, and of sexual assaults, the figures were 20.5%/4.8%.
In all of these cases as well as those indicated in the chart below, non-Germans and illegal migrants outstripped their proportions of crime to their representation in German society.
Non-Germans accounted for 38 per cent of all robberies, 38 per cent of thefts, and 43 per cent of thefts that involved a level of aggravation such as assault or force.
They accounted for 40.2 per cent of burglaries, 43.5 per cent of shoplifting, and a whopping 75.7 of pick pocketing or purse snatching.
In the chart below, non-Germans are in light red while asylum seekers and illegal migrants are in deep red.
Screen Shot 2016-05-23 at 16.13.08
And of migrant crimes specifically, Syrians top the list of migrant crimes that are not related to border controls, with a total of 10,348 individual offences in 2015. They also led assault cases among migrants, with 3,186 offences in 2015.
Thefts were most committed by Albanians, with 6,689 offences and Algerians coming close with 5,611. Algerians almost tie with Serbians when it comes to fraud. Balkan nationals were accountable for 2,834 cases, barely above North Africans’ 2,774.
Algerians top the list for smuggling goods (2,449) and also top the list for drug selling offences (976).
Even when border control breaches are exempted from the data, the situation is still stark. Male crime is stagnant amongst Germans, but when migrants are added, male crime goes up 12 per cent, with female crime rising just 6 per cent. This reflects the fact that most migrants into Europe in 2015 were young men.
Crime rates amongst “non-Germans” outside the residence act are up 13 per cent, whereas crimes committed by Germans are down 5 per cent.
And the report shows that offences against the Residence Act, the Asylum Procedures Act, and the Freedom of Movement Act are up by 157.5 per cent, with shopliftings up by 7.1 per cent, pickpocketing up by 7.0 per cent, burglary up by 9.9 per cent, and drug offences up by 2.1 per cent.
Presenting the report to journalists however, Mr. de Maiziere insisted in focusing on “politically-motivated crimes by the far-right” which he said had risen 35 percent in 2015 to nearly 23,000.
“The sharp increase in politically motivated crime points to a dangerous development in society,” de Maiziere told reporters at a news conference. “We are witnessing a growing and increasingly pronounced readiness to use violence, both by right- and left-wing extremists.”
But while attacks on refugee centre rose to 1,031 compared to 199 in the prior year, most of the offences committed appear to be what could be called “thought crime”, or what police describe as “evidence that they aimed to eliminate certain constitutional principles”.
Of a total of 38,981 political crimes committed in 2015, some 29,681 (76.1 per cent) were classed under this category.
Of real incidents, 1,031 were attacks on asylum centres, but just 177 of these were thought to be “violent”, with most of the rest believed to be “propaganda” offences or vandalism.
And according to the statistics, identified left wingers have had more confrontations with police (3,507 incidents), according to the statistics, than right wingers have (1,203 incidents). Left-wing activists have confronted more right wingers (4,276 incidents) than vice versa (1,406 incidents). These incidents include public protests like those of thePEGIDA movement.
Nonetheless, the reporting from Western news agencies has focused on a “right wing” wave of violence.
Earlier this month, when Republican Party presumptive nominee Donald Trump alleged “[L]ook at Germany, it’s crime-riddled right now”, organisations like Politifact were quick to crow about how immigrants accounted for fewer crimes than native Germans.
But today’s statistics reveal that as a percentage of the population, non-Germans and illegal immigrants account for a massively disproportionate amount of crime in Germany.

#PamelaGeller: Stopping #Sharia ‘Doesn’t End with Drawing #Mohammed #TERROR

, It Begins There’

0

On the anniversary of the thwarted jihadi attack on her “Mohammed Art Exhibit and Contest” in Garland, Texas, Pamela Geller was a guest of Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon.

Bannon asked for Geller’s take on CIA Director John Brennan dismissing the classified “28 pages” from the Senate Intelligence Committee’s 9/11 report as “uncorroborated and unvetted” information, which should not be released to the public.
She said Brennan’s characterization of the classified file was incorrect, “according to the scores of congresspeople who have already read it.”
“Look, I’m wary of John Brennan,” said Geller. “He’s a man who said jihad is a legitimate tenet of Islam.” She noted that he was the CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia for many years, and that “one FBI agent had said that he had converted to Islam at that time.”
She noted a “chorus of voices” has called for releasing the 9/11 documents, and asked, “Why not release it, and let’s vet it?”
Geller said the portrayal of the 9/11 documents as raw, unverified data, unfit for public consumption, was “a completely new excuse” for keeping them hidden.
“When the President of the United States says that he hasn’t read it, or his press spokesperson has said that he hasn’t read the 28 pages everyone is talking about – all roads lead to the Saudi government, the Saudi consulate in L.A., and the embassy in D.C.,” Geller said.
“And we know about that family, that Saudi family in Florida who was tied to the 9/11 Muslim terrorists, who just, in a couple of days left everything, left the car running in the driveway,” she continued, referring to the al-Hijji family of Sarasota, which had numerous ties to the hijackers, and vanished abruptly a week before the 9/11 attacks.
Geller credited the “tenacious” BrowardBulldog journalism group with uncovering the story using the Freedom of Information Act, overcoming a degree of government resistance she compared to “pulling teeth.”
“There’s a story there. What is the government hiding?” she asked. “This is part of the reason why people don’t trust the government. This is an attack on American soil. Who are you protecting? Your first and foremost priority is protecting the American people, not the perps.”
Turning to the Garland attack, Geller said “we’ve learned a lot” during the year since jihadis Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi were shot dead by security, on their way into the Curtis Culwell center to carry out a mass slaughter.
“I think Garland is an extraordinary city,” she said. “We hear about ‘Boston strong.’ I don’t know what’s strong about Boston. I don’t think selling teddy bears and bracelets in the wake of a jihadi attack on the Boston Marathon is necessarily ‘strong.’ I think the response to what happened in Garland – taking the jihadis out, getting the best of all possible outcomes – Garland deserves ‘Garland strong.’”
“We know now, because of the mastermind, the Garland mastermind who is on trial, we know now that the jihadis were instructed by a senior ISIS operative,” Geller continued. “We also know that one of the ISIS operatives here in America was also in touch with the San Bernardino jihadis.”
“I think that speaks volumes about the counter-terror program – how it’s being scrubbed, at Obama’s instruction, of Islam,” she charged.
There should never have been anyone, any devout Muslim who was involved in or orchestrated the Garland attack, should have immediately been arrested.  But free to operate, and have a hand in San Bernardino – which was the worst of all possible outcomes? We know that they were practicing, and target practicing, and planning for a year before we had announced our contest and art exhibit.  So they were gonna hitsomething. And it would have been another San Bernardino, and it would have been another Chattanooga.  But we were prepared.
Instead of praise for their preparedness, and their courage for standing up to credible threats of violence in the name of free expression, Geller said the participants in her art contest,”were hit with all these accusations by the media, and by the elites, that we shouldn’t exhibit or show Mohammed.”
“I’m not a Muslim, and I don’t adhere to Islamic law,” Geller declared. “What these people do not understand is that it doesn’t end with not criticizing, or mocking, or drawing Mohammed. It begins there.”
“The same people – the Martha McCallums, and the Chris Cuomos, and everyone else who said that we shouldn’t have held the contest – should we also kill homosexuals?  Should we not serve pork in school cafeterias?” she asked. “Because that’s what they’re adhering to.”
Geller was not surprised that the mainstream media displayed very little interest in a story about jihadi assassins attempting to suppress free speech with bullets on American soil, compared to the firestorm that would have erupted if extremist Christians had done something similar.
“I’ve been doing this work, post-9/11, every day, 24/7/365, to report the news in this war that the media won’t cover,” she said. “They may not be conscious of it, but they’re self-enforcing this sharia. They will not criticize Islam. They will not insult Islam. Some people call it PC correctness. No, the fact of the matter is, Islamic supremacists in this country mean to impose Islamic law. And one of its tenets of Islamic law is, you cannot criticize Islam.”
“Look how they’re slaughtering free thinkers, and poets, and secularists in Bangladesh,” she urged. Referring to the “Je Suis Charlie” show of support for the murdered cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris, she asked, “Where are the ‘Je Suis’ movements for the poets, and the artists, and those that dare to stand up? You don’t hear anything about it. This should be a movement by the press, and what we’re seeing is, they’re colluding. They are colluding to impose Islamic law.”
Geller thought she and her contributors made their point with the Mohammed Art Exhibit in Garland, by emphasizing the absolute importance of free speech.
“Without freedom of speech, you cannot have a free society,” she said. “You are controlled by the group that you cannot criticize – which we see increasingly here in this country.”
“People need to get involved.  There are no casual observers in this war. Everyone is a target,” she said, pointing to a recent ISIS target list that named some 3,600 New Yorkers.
“What did they do?” she asked of the people on that kill list. “Everyone is a target. If you’re not fighting for the Islamic State, if you’re not fighting to spread Islamic imperialism, then you’re a target. And this is, of course, what’s being kept from the American public.”
