We're working on coming up with a list for next week's Free Tech Tools for Legal Aid and I wanted to hear from you all about what you use. I'll be fleshing this out more on Monday, but I would love to get your feedback on your favorite tools that are free (or very low cost). All of these are linked in http://lsntap.org/50techtips , but just wanted to start the conversation:
Web Sites/Services
- TechSoup - Resources and content aimed at non-profits
- Wiki - Use a wiki to easily capture program knowledge
- Pika Software - low-cost wiki hosting for the poverty law community (use MediaWiki)
- TaDa Lists - simple, shareable, free online "to do" lists. Part of the Basecamp project management suite.
- BackFlip - save and share important things you see on the Web. Backflip also has organization and search functions and other nifty tools.
- Open Directory Project - The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors.
