Taliban destroy oil tanker lorries in Afghanistan

Militants set fore to around 200 trucks carrying fuel for Nato forces in country, say officials


Taliban insurgents have set fire to about 200 oil tanker lorries supplying fuel for Nato forces in an attack just outside Kabul, police said.
Television footage showed black smoke billowing above the site of the attack, with the charred wreckage of dozens of trucks scattered around a vast parking space.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the vehciles carried fuel intended for US-led forces.

Taliban cut off fingers of 11 Afghan voters for Disobeying

 militants have cut off the ink-stained fingers of 11 men as a punishment for disobeying their diktat in the crucial presidential run-off poll that saw a higher than expected turnout of 52 per cent. 

"AFG The insurgents who were defeated today cut off inked fingers of 11 voters in #Herat. The injured ppl transported to the hospital," 's Deputy Interior Minister Ayoub Salangi tweeted. 

The gruesome incident took place yesterday in Herat Province after the 11 men, mostly elders, who returned after casting their ballot in the run-off to elect a successor to President , who has been in office since 2001.

Afghan security guard shoots dead 3 American doctors at hospital

The U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan confirmed Thursday that three American doctors -- including a father and son -- were killed by an Afghan security guard who opened fire at a Kabul hospital.
"With great sadness we confirm that three Americans were killed in the attack at CURE Hospital," said a statementposted on the Embassy's Twitter page. "No other information will be released at this time." 
The shooting was the latest in a string of deadly attacks on foreign civilians in the Afghan capital this year.
