Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York says she has not viewed, and doesn’t plan on viewing the videos that expose the harvest and sale of human body parts by Planned Parenthood, an agency that receives federal funds. When asked about the videos, Gillibrand said:
'
“I think what Planned Parenthood does around the country is provide healthcare for millions of women who have no access to health care at all. And, only a very small part of their budget goes to abortion services. 97 percent of their budget is focused on basic health care. Anyone who wants to defund Planned Parenthood, wants to defund health care for women across the United States.”
That’s not entirely accurate. Planned Parenthood does not claim that abortion occupies only three percent (3%) of their budget. It’s the number of services provided. For example, Planned Parenthood claims they test and treat sexually transmitted diseases that comprise 42 percent of their services. This could mean that the same women come in on a regular basis to treat their STDs and each visit is counted as a service. In fact, the same goes for birth control services which could also be a monthly visit made by numerous women. But we do know that Planned Parenthood commits nearly 330,000 abortions a year. And after having viewed video 6, we now know that they could quite possibly be harassing women of certain gestation to have abortions. They may even be taking body parts of the children without the mother’s permission.
The focus here would make more sense to the Senator if she did, in fact, watch the videos and then try to sleep at night while trying to get the images of little hands, arms, legs and tiny feet all scrambled up in a pie plate, out of her head.
The greatest evil in this nation is the protected status of abortion. Roe v. Wade was based on a lie. It was legalized by a false reliance on a right to privacy by the Supreme Court. This, of course, was unconstitutional, and since that ruling, there are wide swaths of women who believe abortion is a basic right of women, even though, statistically, half of all abortions committed since 1973, almost 30 million of them, would have grown into womanhood.
