In today's issue: A story about a U.S. warship stranded off the coast of Sochi, Russia, prompted Dr. Savage to talk about the Navy's decline, which started under President Bush.
Today, Savage said, the atmosphere on American ships resembles that of "an inner-city high school" with little discipline. Today's commanders are more interested in issuing petty political correctness directives than enforcing real discipline.
"Here's an interesting story: 'U.S. warship deployed near Sochi runs aground,'" Savage told his listeners, noting:
- They don't give us the name of the captain.
I suspect that our warships are no longer being run by the kinds of captains we grew up with in America.
In those days, they went to the Naval Academy.
They had to be the top of their class to ever get the command, or they had war experience.
Today, if they have experience in feminist studies, they make them the captain of the ship.
They don't need any training. They get the lower-ranking officers to run the ship for them so they can blow their whistles and report anyone who violates left-wing protocols.
The real decimation of our Navy didn't start under Obama, but under President Bush.
Right now our warships are floating high schools with propellers.
All the rules of an inner-city high school prevail. Have you ever seen what goes on below decks?
I've spoken to officers who tell me roving gangs have taken over ships, and they're afraid to walk the decks.
That's your dose of reality for today.
